Once we know more about her, I'll probably put in a commission for Piety.
You are one talented fellow. https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

" I haven't calculated expenses covering stuff and things yet, but I'll let you know when I have! I live in Auckland though, so you could even pick up if you like. " yea, we can't post there though, I'd just rather not flood the general discussion with these sort of posts " I never thought about doing Piety, but that's probably doable, and thanks Charan :) Last edited by Jazzo#2834 on Oct 29, 2012, 2:25:21 AM

updated original post and title!
and added sculpt #4... ...the gold kiwi pet Samantha commissioned
Spoiler
I've got 2 of these kiwis, one of which is for sale if anyone is interested, offers can be discussed by PM ^^ |

pretty kiwi. i also like the necro
from 0.10.0 patch notes: "Fixed a bug where you could add Piety to your friends list." xD

Added pics of the new paint job on the necro. I did it some time ago, but didn't upload pics.
It just consists of improved highlights, so the light areas aren't glare, and the dark areas aren't necessarily shadows, they're painted on, so he will look dramatically lit under any lighting :)

do you have permission from GGG to do this? you realize if you ever got this molds working and could mass produce these, that... you'd either be asked to stop doing it entirely, or forced to split or more than split the money with them? ...

" In terms of permission, I don't think I need permission to make fan art, though on the subject of selling on a mass scale, you do have a point, and I have thought about it. I've talked to them sorta kinda, and brought this into consideration some time ago. So far they don't seem t have a problem with it, in fact two members of their staff have supported me buy purchasing my work so far. And FYI the kiwi was a commission, so I was actually asked to make it. If they do ask me to stop selling them though, (not that I've sold many) I'll still be making them as a hobby. That's what it is mainly, and that's how it started off. If I could mass produce one day, I'd be more than happy to collaborate with GGG. I'd likely get more attention and customers if that were the case. If I could make a living sculpting and painting, straight out of high school with no formal education, working with GGG, I'd probably be happy tbh, they're nice people Anyway, I don't own a factory, or have funds to hire workers, so I won't be mass producing any time soon... Also I'm quite sure Figure Prints don't pay royalties, and all do is have the following in fine print on their website... World of Warcraft®, and all accounts, characters and, without limitation, all other copyrighted content related to World of Warcraft®, is the property of Blizzard Entertainment®, Inc. All rights reserved ...and blizzard is a BIG company edit: Figure prints isn't art though ;) Last edited by Jazzo#2834 on Nov 17, 2012, 3:40:14 PM

you're right though namad,
from what I've read, technically all fan art is illegal. Even if you aren't selling it. Generally though it comes down to the owner's (of the intellectual property) legal pursuit, and often it isn't worth the money, and legal resources. ...and now that I'm a bronze supporter, you could argue I paid royalties equal to approximately 30% of my profit. GGG those dastardly devils O: |
|
" HA! Yes, let us never forget that every single supporter of this game is somehow a benefactor to GGG right now. There may be issues down the track if your models go widespread, but the fact that Sam commissioned a kiwi and the other devs have posted very favourably of your work should indicate that personally, if not legally, they're fans of what you do. :) Are you going to deliver the kiwi in person? Hey, any old excuse to get a glimpse of the fabled GGG HQ...;) https://linktr.ee/wjameschan -- everything I've ever done worth talking about, and even that is debatable.

mhm! and that makes me happy :)
Samantha dropped by my place and picked it up, I assume it was more convenient for her that way. I've been to their offices before though, for the Rhoa Chris bought, and a place of fables it was indeed... |
