[1.0.3] Vaine's Blood Magic & Critical Frenzy/LA Build
Checking my gear and I see that I will have about 80 crit chance and 80 crit multiple.
Will this be to low? And if so, should I try and boost crit multiple over crit chance? Is it importan to get + % elemental damage on quiver? I would then need to give away crit chance or multiple for it. Below is the bow I will use, think it's pretty neat with high aps and accuracy rating. Is it worth it try and get 4-5 sockets and then link 3-4 of those together?

Hey Beastie
As it stands for me, I focus my multiplier. It mustn't be too high. Why you ask? I just die to reflect :) Instead, I aim for over 50% Critchance per hit, if I would've gotten that bow in selling, I'd go for 54% Critchance with a low multiplier. Crit + stack + chain + aoe of LA is enough to oneshot most clusters of mobs anyway. For rares or blues, a CritWeakness, some Frenzies and some LA's do the job aswell. This is for soloplay mostly. In parties, Crit multi is even less effective and crit chance improves the DMG for all because if you crit, you shock, and if you shock, well, dmg gets buffed for all partymembers on that target. My actual used bow: As you can see, very low. Only have 33% Critchance atm with this but IF I get my nasty hands on another beauty, I'll reserve you my bow here. PS: free tip: don't use your resources on trying to 5L or 6L an average piece of gear which is easily replaced. I don't even try to 4L my current bow since it's not a tad better than my 4Links in boots, helm or gloves. Save up, buy what you like :) IGN: WildTortillaFart Last edited by Chronodroid#6060 on Nov 20, 2013, 6:59:13 AM

is Rat's nest or alphas howl better for this build?
Rat's nest is ton of crit, whereas alphas howl will allow an additional aura (for 3 auras) which will be better for DPS? (probably alphas howl i guess?) |

I prefer rat's nest but IDK, maybe you have a point. Decisions decisions.

I atm use a Stark's, but will head for Rat's now since I traded up to:
Already 49% Critchance :) IGN: WildTortillaFart

What's the ideal bow what this kind of setup? I'm getting mixed theories about lioneye vs rare thicket etc. I know thickets can easily surpass lioneye in both raw dps and cost but I noticed the OP uses the lioneye so it begs the question which is "ideally" better?

" It kinda depends from two perspectives: Pre-bow-buff, a rare and strong Thicket would be the ideal for this build. Post-bow-buff I was looking to find a not-so fast but high crit high phys bow. I achieve a critical hit in 49% of the cases, if I use CritWeakness curse, i go over 60%. Second question is, how do you play vs reflect. With Lioneyes, you can't evade reflect damage. It always hits. If you're accuracy is high already without Lioneye's, you can easily go for a good thicket or better harbinger bow and do MUCH better, since we aim at crits and not the noncrit dmg. Will update my complete gear after i get home tonight. IGN: WildTortillaFart

I'm building a variation of vaine's build which includes VP so reflect is not a concern.
I'm mostly considering the cost vs dmg aspect and also wanting an endgame bow where I can spend all day linking / socketing as well. IGN: Vanagandr_Fenrir (Domination) || Vanadys_Fenrir (Nemesis)

Should solve your physical reflect issues:

Well looks like costs played my biggest factor just picked up a nice thicket bow (trades) for a good price.
and a little something I've always wanted as well :) IGN: Vanagandr_Fenrir (Domination) || Vanadys_Fenrir (Nemesis)
