this calculation calculates the dmg of the item, not the dmg of certain skills, however i have used it to deterimine all my gear, and it never worked wrong :) i was also able to predict the dmg upgrades from others using this spreadsheet.

Your calculations does not take into account the higher mana consumption. 32.68% more mana per second consumed. This means that sacrifices need to be done elsewhere, either though mana on gear or mana related skill points.

I.e. it has an opportunity cost you need to account for.

Furthermore, bigger hits can reach freezing threshold that smaller hits can't. This is relevant against bosses and you should calculate that too, since it matters.
