Blue Screen of Death with some sound cards

have an audigy 2 zs here as well and blue screening on waypoint to town
Tried most of the solutions posted. Creative SB X-Fi.
Think the BODs are only when I transition area.

Using X-Fi platinum, Win 7 x64.

I started having many BSODs after the OB patch so I went looking for a solution.

Haven't had a BSOD from POE since I started using --softwareaudio.
I added the software audio option and haven't blue screened any more. Using X-Fi soundblaster win 7.

I'm using the --softwareaudio command on the desktop shortcut and it works for me too.

Anyone who still having issue, might want to check and make sure you are using the command correctly. Feel free to post a screenshot of your shortcut properties to check if its set correctly.

If done correctly, you should not face any BSOD from the sound card problem.
I´m using a Creative X-FI on Win7 - Confirmed solved this issue with the --softwareaudio command

I used Win8 with the same system and I did NEVER had a BSOD. Perhaps this info is worth something for the Dev´s.

Cheers,
Ben

Creative X-Fi Titanium (PCI-E) and Win7 x64 here too. the commandline add on worked for me also.

although i got dropped about say 5 minutes in i mangaged to waypoint travel and change sectors (through the orange doorway in the trading hub that i have forgotten the name of... again)

might be worth me mentioning i wasnt getting this bug/bsod until today. having previously played it with no problems.

im guessing that it is something to do with the que system or the server upgrade/increase, mind you having said that im just some random git in his game room so, er, thats open to debate :D.

kudos btw for making a cynical git slightly less miserable :) keep up the good work.

It's worked for me too (lol at least in act 1) but sound quality *SOOOOOOOOOO CHEAP* with --softwareaudio. Sometimes i just mute sound. :(
I've blue-screened twice now entering the Chamber of Sin, I do have a Creative X-Fi sound card and Windows 7 as well... Do you need any dump files to work out this problem?
