the reason why you cannot trade 60 chaos for 1 ex anymore is because chaos has became the currency people prefer to take when trading due to the newfound recipe of lvl 20 gem + 1 gcp, making gcp undesirable. when you remove a (what used to be important) currency from the game, the other currencies will increase in value. but i do get your point. however, it won't change the fact that exalts will still inflate because people save them and not use them since it's a form of currency used to buy majority of the expensive things. even when chaos was at 55:1, shav was going for 35exalts. 35x55 = 1925chaos. 40x45 = 1800chaos. if that was the reasoning, then the 40ex price tag would be rather cheap.

the demand for shav is tremendously high and because of the low supply, people will pay more for it. that's just basic economics. prices will always fluctuate. that is a fact.

but hey, i'm not here to argue or anything. i replied to the thread since i saw people dissing on the OP's buyout price. i merely gave a reasoning as to why a 40ex price wasn't as crazy as people think (take my 60ex for a 6L for example). 60ex shav sold many times over.

people will pay what they feel is "worth" it. but how do you determine worth? demand.

The part about the value of chaos going up makes sense,

Don't see how exalts are inflating in the short run right now, for sure in the long run but it feels like their value in proportion to the other currency is dropping for the time being. IMO it will keep dropping until it matches the standard ratios.

Of course, pure speculation from someone who is very bored.

i meant to say currency as a whole. however, i do see exalts inflating since people do not use the currency (the majority). they save it and buy things with it. only crafters or people who have a lot to spend will spend exalteds. yap. definitely will be same price as standard very, very soon. only reason why it would be more valuable is because there's less of it. but that shows inflation in itself.
