So what does blood magic ape even do o.o?

Mainly spam frenzy charges.

Frenzy charges are applied to everything (minions included) in party. The extra attack speed on the zombies is helpful.

I also forgot to mention that I spent all my currency and purchased two upgrades recently.

Quality 20 Lvl 20 zombie makes a noticeable difference, totally worth it.

I've also been playing with a quality 20 stun, and it seems to work pretty well. Combined with melee splash and blind from the BoR, it is able to completely shuts down big mobs.

Do you run discipline as well as clarity? I found discipline with EB gave me better recharge for lest reserve than clarity.

Yeah, I run Discipline/Vitality/Anger/Wrath/Purity and Clarity(I should swap anger + wrath for hatred really)

I couldn't get the frenzy ape to continuously generate frenzy charges unless I have BM linked to him.

With a decent Clarity, they spam it quite often - not as much as with blood magic, but still enough to maintain 3 charges on all my zombies at all times.

The new zombie unique looks pretty cool. It's hard to say on paper whether its an improvement because its hard to gauge the effectiveness of the explosions without seeing it. I can only assume it's like infernal blow, so it might be pretty awesome.

But.... It's way more expensive than I'll ever be able to afford, so I guess I won't be able to test it!

I think our builds don't differ too much, so this should give you a good idea of what it's like :)

Late response but oh well ;P

That does look pretty fun!

I noticed you don't use an attack to guide your minions. Have you ever tried that?

I've found it significantly helps to control what the sombies are attacking. I use either a default attack or GMP+Artic Breath to do this.
As far as I know, it's not the attack that guides your minions, but the mouse pointer. so if you hold your mouse over a certain enemy, it will attack it. So you don't need an attack, but can also use something like a curse, or just hover over :)

I will check it out though(if I can find the space to link is though... having 6 aura's, fully equipped zombie spell, a curse, a specter, skeletons, without a bodyarmour, takes up all my available slots :x)just to see if it makes a difference :)

The mouse cursor seems to affect them to some degree, but only when it's actually targeting (mob name and health bar is shown on top of your screen). As soon as your mouse moves or the target mob moves and you loose target, the zombies go back into automatic mode. If you click move, they will follow your move command instead of attacking.

If you want to keep your zombies attacking a particular guy in a mob (say, the rare mob with the invulnerability aura), you have to constantly keep your mouse cursor over a moving target. The advantage to using an attack is that you don't have to worry about where your mouse is beyond the initial target+attack. Once you start to spam an attack (hold down the attack button), it "locks target" on the mob until you either stop holding attack or the mob dies.

If you are using a wand, you can just use the default ranged attack, and no further linking or gems are required.

If your using the Mon'tregul's Grasp, I guess this won't work because it's a mace.
Well, if you are attacking, you can not move, so the same counts for attacking I guess.

Well, if I want a certain target dead, I just spam my skeletons around him. Somehow, my zombies always find a way inbetween the mass of skeletons ;P

If you are casting skeletons with the mob targeted, this counts as an attack and makes the zombies attack that target, so I can see how that would be extremely useful.

Weeellll.... I spent the last of my currency and bought

It's pretty amazing, especially with snapshotting.

To be clear, I think it's a bullshit broken mechanic that should be fixed. But, having tried it, it's kinda too awesome not to do while it still works.

I summon 4 super zombies on montreguls, then swap to chobber and summon 5 more regular zombies.
Also using chobber burning miscreants for more life=more damage.

Also recently swapped some skills around and took EE to go with arctic breath. The -50% fire resist from EE and bonus degen from vulnerability curse is pretty amazing.

I think I already mentioned it, but I have RRRB on my bringer now, so I'm using

Q20RZ + multistrike + melee splash + Q20added fire damage + (melee phys damage + faster attaacks + blind)

Made a new video too with mega zombies:

I've recently started trying the new Endurance Charge on Melee Stun support gem. It REALLY works well on the zombies; I'd highly recommend trying it.
