0.9.12c Patch Notes
" Don't agree with you here. How many link has the item above, when you don't look at the zoomed in version? :p Also I have a hard time telling if there is a link between red and blue sockets. It's almost invisible to me. I have an issue with the new font size for the descriptions, it is too small for me. My eyes aren't as good as they used to be and I have a hard time reading it now. Can we get an option for increased size there? (In a more positive note, the new minions rule. :D ) |

Edit: Crap was written here, screenshots above tell me that all is fine (didn't see the latest patch apparently)

" It has the following links: 1-2 3-4 5-6 It's hard to see because the bottom link isn't lined up properly. That's something they need to fix, once it is, it will be far easier to tell links, all other links are fine, just the bottom link on a 6S item. Can you spread the Reduce mana cost support gem to other class rewards, it's simply too good of a gem and is used by nearly every build.

My colorblind doesn't effect my playing to much here (blue/purple) and the sockets aren't an issue. For example, I can't tell if the item stat information is blue or purple but I can read it so it's a non-issue. I do like this version of the sockets much better than the brighter ones from the previous patch. I know you guys aren't too fond of cluttering up the menu but this may be best suited for a menu option like everyone else is suggesting. Then for those who have a colorblind issue, they can simply toggle it in the options and everyone is happy.
I will keep plugging away and see if I come with any other takes on the ground item displays but some of the links are difficult to read and others very easy, which is nice. Great work guys, much appreciated. Looking forward to the race tonight and the stress test this week. |

Thanks for the feedback, guys.
There is absolutely no way we're going to keep legacy UI options around forever - we'd much rather fix it up so that everyone is happy, and keep that as a standard version that everyone sees. Will will continue to iterate on sockets, based on your feedback. There *may* be a colourblind option in the future if we're unable to satisfactorily solve this. The problem with what's been done is that the new sockets are so simplified that they look horribly out of place in the game. That's fine to look at changing the sockets but the art style needs to fit with the game or it just looks tacky. Right now the sockets look horrendously tacky, don't fix what ain't broke certainly comes to mind here.
The problem with trying to sort things for colour-blind players is that everyone has a different level of colour-blindness. This is shown by the comment made here by someone who said the bright ones were perfect but since the last update they can't distinguish the colours again. but then other people are saying the latest one is better for there particular colour-blindness. There is no way to get a setting that will suit everyone and I think you may be the only game who has ever actually cared about such a thing (which is great don't get me wrong). But the only way to tackle this issue seriously is to provide a colour-blind socket option in the menu and allow each individual person to use a slider to choose their own brightness for each individual colour. Or I guess you could go back to the little patterns that used to be on the old sockets but maybe make them more distinguishable without changing the sockets overall circle shape. Either way the old sockets fit with the art style, the new sockets look like my 2 year old did some colouring and I photo-shopped it in to the game. *This is honestly the first thing I have felt strongly about in terms of a change i don't like in this game, but I do feel really strongly about it because this game is awesome but the games market is huge atm so it can't afford to look cheap* IGN: Amel, Ameladol, Spock, ILoveUniqueThings, AmelPVP

" Overall I really like the new style of the UI. I did find the 0.9.12 sockets slightly jarring in their colorfulness, but I definitely wasn't going to let that get in the way of enjoying the great gameplay of PoE. The 0.9.12c sockets are fine, but (please don't kill me) maybe a bit too dull/similar in appearance. (I'm not colorblind at all btw) However, I have to say that the new font size on item descriptions is affecting my gameplay a bit too much. I tried 3 different screen resolutions. (1024x768, 1280x720, 1360x768) and all three of them had fonts that were too small. I actually started to get a slight headache on patch night after reading several item descriptions. I also find the new sockets/link display on item names when they are laying on the ground too small and confusing. The old "straight-line" style was so much more functional and made it easy to tell at a glance if an item had desirable sockets/links. Thanks for listening so closely to our feedback Chris, and keep up the good work! |

Okay I do have to complain about what I initially wanted to complain and to which version C did not change anything:
I can barely see sockets of on the floor items: Here is the pic! As you can see it is really hard to scan things I do not know wether this is only me who has this problem or also others. Fuerthermore the sockets in stash are super blurry: You could really work on that! |
