[Not a Bug] Unarmed Crit Chance
"This is currently the correct behaviour. Skills with no base chance to crit are not locked between 5%-9% anymore, because it was unintuitive. "That's not what's happening at all. There is no base 5% to increase.
" Gotcha. " This was the confusing statement. It seemed to contradict your previous statements by implying you should be having that base 5%. So Crit Facebreaker just isn't going to happen then. Is it because of the programming or does Carl want it that way? I really can't think of why Facebreakers should be refused crits if the accuracy takes a penalty. Read you loud and clear now though, thanks.
"That statement is no longer true, but was at the time of posting. Skills with no crit chance are no longer locked to the 5%-95% range, because it's necessary to have some skills that can never crit (shockwave totem, for example). Unarmed by or may not get a base crit chance in future.
Would have been too nice if Shockwave Totem could crit... ^^

I know this thread is a few months old. I'm wondering if there have been any changes since then.
I'd really like to make a crit focused facebreaker. The gloves seem very well suited towards crits. I would even say the person who designed them probably thought unarmed would be able to crit. Brutus. Do you even sync?

This thread as a whole is confusing. Can anyone provide an up to date comprehensive explanation? From what I can tell, unarmed crit chance using the "default attack" is 0%. The Infernal Blow skill states on the gem info that that the critical strike chance is 7%. When using Infernal Blow, I do see criticals happen.
Why doesn't the 7% show up on the character screen when you select Infernal Blow? Why doesn't the Default Attack show 0%? What mechanisms (passives, power charges, supports) actually increase your chance to critical strike with, say, Infernal Blow? INTP

Hitting with infernal blow uses the weapon's critical strike chance (or 0% if unarmed), like any other attack damage. The 7% on the gem is specific tot he explosion, which is not dealing weapon/attack damage.

so in other words still no crits for unarmed at all. right? or i am misunderstanding something here(sorry english is not my native language) i would be gratefull for simple answer from Mark like : "yes unarmed can crit" or "no unarmed cant crit "
