[OSX] Unofficial Path of Exile port - 30/12/2018 status update
" Thank you for the suggestion, but unfortunately the minherit does not have any effect at all (at least in my test case)... But if you want to test for yourself:
Technic stuff
http://pastebin.com/download.php?i=rW9H7XWp just clang or g++ it. (with minor includes changes it can be compiled on Linux and solaris as well) Also 1GB file is needed - you can create it by dd if=/dev/urandom of=io_benchmark.dat bs=1000 count=1000000 but basically any 1GB+ file will do. Output: OSX10.7 1000 mmaps 4KB blocks: 22483ms 1000 mmaps 64KB blocks: 22381ms 1000 mmaps 1024KB blocks: 24862ms LINUX (solaris was even faster, but that was server config) 1000 mmaps 4KB blocks: 20ms 1000 mmaps 64KB blocks: 264ms 1000 mmaps 1024KB blocks: 4227ms |

Question about linking items on a mac laptop:
So i have emulate 3 button mouse checked. Having this done, i can't seem to link an item. If i add use option as alt, i still can't link items. If i remove emulate 3 button mouse, and have option as alt, i can link items again. However in this scenario, i can't use a right click. Does anyone know a workaround for these to make it so you can use 3 button mouse and be able to link items in game? Thanks ----

well, only have a few lingering issues:
- when i boot up the game the bottom will be cut off, then if i change the resolution (and it doesn't crash) it will go back to normal. - sometimes it boots up normally, without the resolution issue, but the mouse does not line up properly with what you are trying to select. again, this is resolved by changing the resolution (and if it doesn't crash haha) it goes back to normal. - the only other issue i can think of is it stutters. that might just be a performance issue with wine. i found that a lot of the stutters were coming from the chat window (every time someone woud say something). when i turned the global chat off i got a huge boost in performance but theres still a few sluggish moments, especially when certain magic is cast. there is no performance boost from turning down the resolution and all of the graphics settings. it plays exactly the same in those situations. - when it plays great it plays great though! specs: 3.6 Wine Wrapper Mac OS X 10.8.2 2.53GHz Core 2 Duo 512MB NVIDIA 9600m GT 4GB DDR3 RAM |

I just wanted to let you know that despite your suggestions, I still seem to be having issues with the mouse being slightly offset. No matter what resolution I set it at, it's either very off, or just slightly so. 1240x800 comes the closest, but there is a little black bar at the very bottom of the screen, about the same distance that the mouse is below what it is selecting. I can't even adjust any of this within the game itself either; it crashes every time I apply the graphical settings. Thus far, I've been changing them through the production_confic.ini file.
On another note, thank you so much for making this! I am able to play and will continue doing so, all thanks to you! |

" Well, you can change cmd<>alt behaviour in the wineskin settings (right click on wrapper>show contents>wineskin>advanced>last tab) Last edited by julus#1066 on Jan 26, 2013, 12:13:22 AM

" Changing resolution from the menu should not crash the game, also, I didn't see that behaviour on tests. Also, you can try to run it via override settings (right click on wrapper>show contents>wineskin>advanced>screen options) which might fix both issues for you " Well, the stuttering occurs on windows as well, but it is not that heavy. This is caused by the game imperfection. But this should improve in the future. |

Hi there,
I'm completely new to this game and I'm very sorry if this has been mentioned (and solved) beforehand, but I read the majority of this thread (and did a keyword search through the pages I didn't read start to finish) and couldn't find anything about my problem. It seems as if it's a very common error for Windows users to encounter an "Unable to connect to patching server" dialog box during startup, but I can't seem to find any info on the problem concerning the 3.1/3.6 version of this port. I've used Wine before with myriad applications and even then I still followed the instructions within this thread just to make sure I did everything correctly. I've had gatekeeper disabled since I bought this laptop and I have no firewalls up either, so I'm unsure as to what the issue is. Specs also shouldn't be a problem (I doubt they'd be a problem when it comes to connectivity anyway) as it's a 2012 MBP running 10.8.2 that I only purchased a few months ago. Is this a common issue? If so, is there a workaround? Thanks a lot! |

" IF you are encountering this problem since today then possibly it is related to recent issues ( DDOS attack?) on PoE servers. There should not be any problem connecting to patching server, unless PoE has issues. |

I'm having the same problem as the guy above. ::(
"Unable to connect to patching server" I smell blood, something is calling me..

" Interesting, that would make sense. If it's a server problem then I guess that means it's out of my hands. I'll try again later. Thanks for the quick response. EDIT: UPDATE It seems that you were right about it just being a server problem I had to wait out. Everything seems to be working fine now. Thanks!
