Yep, that has been always (since open beta) problem on OSX. Game heavily utilizes shaders which has to be converted in manner that OSX can understand them, as they are not preloaded, every unique animation causes frame drop for the first time, with 64bit wine I hoped this can improve in longer game sessions as more of the loaded/handled animation can be stored in the memory.

On Linux this can be workaround by disabling GLSL (Nvidia only), at cost of lower FPS you would avoid those frame drops. However I don't have Nvidia macbook and tests done in the past by others did yield any results.

This port mainly serves as workaround when you cannot reach for bootcamp/windows machine or if you need to do just some simple thing ingame.
First of all, very good job, I always wanted to try this game.

I downloaded latest version 8, installed and done everything as er guide.

the game start and no problem so far.

beside the issue already tracked (FPS drop), after 30 minutes of playing it freeze; I have to force quit and restart.
after around 30 minutes, again.

any idea?

thanks

EDIT
nevermind, had it working by changing some wine settings!
played 3 hours straight, no problem.

VERY VERY good job :)

Glad you made it work, but... can you share what've you changed? I would incorporate it in next wrapper update, and other people can fix it in meantime
I did the following

change on winetricks to win7 and 1gb vram (my laptop got 1.5 shared)

in config file, display, changed at min as follow

borderless_windowed_fullscreen=false
directx_version=9Ex
dx11_antialias_mode=0
dx9_antialias_mode=0
dynamic_resolution_fps=30
fullscreen=false
global_illumination_detail=0
light_quality=1
max_PS_shader_model=ps_3_0
max_VS_shader_model=vs_3_0
maximize_window=false
post_processing=false
screen_shake=false
shadow_type=no_shadows
texture_filtering=0
texture_quality=3
use_dynamic_resolution=true
vsync=false
water_detail=0

still cannot play full screen, it crash after an hour or so.

btw, the FPS drop is a pain for labyrinth, as soon as boss spawn, fps drop and I die cause I can't spell or move
haha, have to borrow a pc for that, other things are ok

texture_quality=0
use_dynamic_resolution=false
vsync=true

Use Win10 instead of win7. Also use a staging version of wine so you can enable CSMT.

I use playonlinux but very similar

Edit: engine multithread disabled (in game setting)

Winestaging is version 2.21, latest according to the V8 proposed here. CSMT is activated.

engine is disabled

use_dynamic_resolution=false
vsync=true

those worked good, improved; but for texture quality 0 is too high, I keep 3 (which is low).

for win10, it crashed after 2 hours, I will monitor if it was isolated case, in case I rollback to win7

FPS drop is a real pain, cannot understand why they don't officially support mac......

You can try to add "-gc 1" as argument for exe file, this increases the aggressiveness of garbage collector so memory is freed sooner (helps if the crash is due to out of memory), however it can have some side effects (longer loading times, more fps drops...)
