[OSX] Unofficial Path of Exile port - 30/12/2018 status update
So I've been running into this problem since version 6 and I don't know if this has been addressed or is a known issue. My files in user end up being changed to a non-english file name format. Always the same files and happens around 2-4 days of game play. I think this happens when the game crashes. It's playable for a while and then nothing works.
Files Changes: Má hudba,Má videa,Plocha,Mé obrázky,Mé dokumenty Specs: MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) possessor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7 memory 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 graphics NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB |

" Same problems are reported also on Linux wine, so far it seems its a new ingame bug. |
|
" Tha'ts odd, Its true my OSX is in Czech language, but I've checked the Windows registry inside wrapper, and except one mention of Czech settings (control panel, international), all other paths are in English (including My music, My video and so on). In any case in future version of wrapper, I will try to delete that settings. I was not even aware the wine can rename the user home folders like this... |

PoE patch 2.04c seems to have resolved my crash after 10+ seconds.
Performance seems quite acceptable with my iMac - thanks again for this |

I just installed the CX version and I get the Failed resetting Direct3D device objects. I tried to edit the resolution but I still get "Failed resetting Direct3D device objects" upon starting the game.
Any one had this issue? I ran the game through steam with "playonmac" on yosemite and that worked just fine but I updated to el capitan today and then it didnt launch either so I tried this way of installing PoE. Any help is appreciated. Cheers! Edit: I tried using the other V7 version (not CX) and that worked! Just an FYI if anyone has the same problem :) Last edited by lovestospoon#7919 on Nov 5, 2015, 6:24:11 AM

Ok so I tried what the person above said and he's right, no more crashes. However if I had good performance previously (crashes aside), I have absolutely shit performance now. So I guess you trade performance for crashes in the CX version

Hi, firstly thank you so much for making a mac compatible version. After playing for around a half hour, I experienced my first crash. I relogged and did all the basic stuff but the message kept popping up about ten seconds after loading into the world. I was wondering if you have any info regarding these crashes that I've been experiencing for like the past couple hours. The message reads as: "The program PathOfExile.exe has encountered a serious problem and needs to close". Thank you so much otherwise and stay amazing bro.

Hi,
I've installed the V7 CX version and i'm having trouble setting the resolution. If I set it to anything other than 1024x768 the game crashes with "failed resetting direct3d device objects". (If I edit this in Production_Config.ini, the game crashes on launch). I tried going fullscreen, but I can't command-tab back into the game under full screen mode ( the game turns all white screen), which is super inconvenient. Specs: I have the newest 15'' macbook pro, 16 GB ram, AMD Radeon R9 M370X graphics, OSX 10.10.5. Also the startup load time for the client is extremely slow (about 2 mins). Seems like it should be pretty fast with my specs? |
