Thank you so much !!
Finally ! game installed and running.
It was a small window, I tried the cmd and enter and nothing happened. Kept trying then when i clicked cmd was item highlight or something.
When I wanted to manually stretch the window the game froze :(

Any ideas Poptart?

Slowly but surely Im getting there ! :)

Which wrapper are you using, v3.1 (stable) or v3.5 (beta)?

As far as I can tell, cmd+enter does not work in v3.5. The game is known to freeze or crash if you try to drag the window from the corner.

You should test 3.1. wrapper first.
Can't get Beta Wrapper to work ATM just getting a terminal window from XQuartz and thats it.

About the videocard settings, I got my ATI to recognize by unchecking wine's option to auto look for videocard under screen settings inside wrapper options! Much better colors & graphics

Tried 3.5beta compared to stable 3.1.

Good:
All the graphic effects I tried are correct, didn't see any oddities.

Bad:
Huge FPS drop, from 60 => 30-40 with major frame drops in combat.

Ongoing Issues:
Long load times remain (on SSD).
Font issues remain.

That is the feedback I like.

FPS drop - Nvidia user I presume? try to disable OverrideVertexShaders in registry HKCU/Software/Wine/Direct3D

Load times - Caused by two things - not fixable by me:
1) the OSX mmap bug - fixable by Apple
2) the game uses single file - fixable by CCC
One of those two needs to be fixed for speedup

Font issue - wine issue, I am searching for workaround, but no luck so far.

Some more testing of v3.5beta wrapper:

As I mentioned earlier, if I use this 3.5beta wrapper as it is, the mouse pointer becomes invisible after each click. Makes gameplay a bit too challenging for my taste.

So what I did to address this issue was changing Screen Options in Wineskin.app. I experimented a bit and found that the best setup so far for me is to check Override, then under Override check Fullscreen (use Current Resolution) and Force normal windows. I also unchecked Auto Detect GPU Info for Direct3D (this should show your GPU correctly ingame, but can't tell whether it makes any difference).

I did try other settings as well. Some combinations gave horrible slideshow performance, stuttering music or the game screen was off centre. I tried virtual desktop too, but that slightly decreased performance and also the game just died with no warning after 20 minutes of play.

Then, maybe now it is my turn to be stupid but I can not enable Option key to work as Alt (I have checked in Options, yes), nor can I use Cmd+Enter to min/max the screen.

After I found the suitable screen settings I thought the game was working quite nicely. Until this

You have found new bug, post me your settings will try to reproduce, and fix eventually.

Also if you are using xQuartz - there is different combination for full screen - Cmd+Opt+A

I followed your directions in the post a few pages back by right clicking, show contents, went into the c drive, program files, etc. That is what I meant by the wrapper. Then I copied it to the new install by going through the same route. I can just redownload it. Won't be as fast as yours but won't take me all day either.

*Edit:

Complete redownload and the same issue with the content.ggpk file.

And I am an idiot and never rebooted the laptop and now after rebooting it and redownloading the last 7.22MB it launches the game. Sigh, I know better then that.

Ufff, I really didn't expect to see this. mmap(size=XXX) failed (error code=12) means something like: invalid allocation of memory . This should occur for all people using same OSX version, or not at all...

3.1 works for you?

or corrupted wrapper. The wine is complaining it cannot load system libraries... (also for 10.7.5 and 10.8.2 you need xquartz 2.7.4, older xquartz will crash)

Which wrapper are you using, v3.1 (stable) or v3.5 (beta)?

As far as I can tell, cmd+enter does not work in v3.5. The game is known to freeze or crash if you try to drag the window from the corner.

You should test 3.1. wrapper first.

Im using the 3.1.
tested the game for a few hours.
Honestly, so far, it works great.

I have Imac 2.7 ghz intel i5, radeon hd 6770 512 mb
Lion 10.7.5

Game never crashed, but is a little laggy sometimes. All graphics and sounds as far I understand, works 100%
The only problem I have its that I cant alt tab from the game, when I come back its windowed and if i try to fullscreen again it crashes.

But at least I can play this wonderful game ! thanks everyone !
