I am having the same problem as well. White screen with message that failed to load Direct 3D. I have OSX 10.8.4 and Intel 4000HD 512MB video card. Used to work just fine.

Hi, I am a new player of PoE.
After i downloaded the port, dragged it to the desktop and finished the download through the port, this window popped up on my screen.  After i clicked on the "Show Details", this one showed up, but it didn't show me any information.  Here are my MacBook details.  I really want to play this awesome game on my MacBook. Ok, so from what I see, you all (who cannot currently launch the game) have Intel HD 4000 card and Mountain Lion.
Now question no.2: Does anybody have same configuration (Mountain Lion / HD 4000) and the game works for him? (I will try later on mine macbook, but I have Mavericks / HD3000/R6750M so I might not be able to reproduce problem) Last edited by julus#1066 on Oct 2, 2013, 10:42:13 PM

just to confirm that the latest version 4.1.1 port is working fine on my macbook pro 13 inch retina, it's currently running 10.8.5 with intel hd 4000 GPU.
What I did was moving the "path of exile" folder under "grinding gear games" to the new wrapper, then everything worked just like the older version, except the font problem returned which has already stated by julus, though not big of a deal. again, thx for the port julus! Hello, i'd like some help since it won't start and i'll post a printscreen of the problem at the bottom.
OSX Version: 10.8.5 GPU Card: Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB Ram Size: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Wrapper Version: I just realized that i have no idea of what a "wrapper" is. So i guess that would be the reason for it no working, and after some quick googling i guess it's some program or something for using windows stuff on a mac. But i'm not sure that i understand so maybe you could help me on that part. Here comes the print:  |

Tryied many things, even recreate from scratch, the only way I got that error was to resize window by drag&drop, otherwise the game works as it worked previously. so resizing is currently broken.
I am now completely clueless. Guess I will wait for PoE release later this month... |

Also have a Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 Mo and 10.8.5 mac version !

Yes, resizing triggers the error messages. However, if you try to play the game with the small non-full screen window you will also eventually get an error message after about 30seconds.
Will the full release game have an official mac version or will it be wine? |
