[OSX] Unofficial Path of Exile port - 30/12/2018 status update

I have a strange problem which can be solved pretty easily, but i just can't figure out how.
I have to retype my user information and adjust the graphic settings every time i start the game.
So it does not save my settings. What do i have to change to make the settings permanent.
I play on Mountain Lion and use the Latest Mac Client, if that helps.

Thanks in advance.

You can try to manually edit the production_config.ini and set it read only. Also you might try to use 3.X.
This is somehow bug in the macdriver in wine. This will be partially fixed in 4.1
if u have a problem like me, should check the previous page in case someone has same problem heh...

edited out my problem since someone already asked a few times.

I actually don't understand like any mac terminology...I've been using only pc for like 12+ years and pretty retarded at mac. But it seems I may be using the wrong operating system to run the game properly? how can I check if I'm a lion or a leopard or lizard etc and if I am a lizard, how do I evolve from a lizard into a lion so I can run the game?

btw my problem is the d3error shader thing and entire game being black/crashing on load.
Is it impossible to fix this?

GGG start working on mac compatibility plx, look how many pages of ppl posting here and I didn't even know about unofficial mac support for a long time.

If you hit the apple on the top left of any screen, and then go to About This Mac a general screen will appear that gives some basic information:

The important part (for you) is the Version 10.X.X.

10.4.X is Panther
10.5.X is Leopard
10.6.X is Snow Leopard
10.7.X is Lion
10.8.X is Mountain Lion

The game works for 10.6 on some graphic cards and 10.7 for others. Upgrading is through the App Store (for more recent ones).

10.3 was Panther, 10.4 was Tiger. Fyi :P.

Okay...Well I am running 10.6. and it isn't working. So just to make sure, this means I have to purchase/upgrade mac to 10.7 and it would run poe 100% or cant say for sure? No other way to fix d3 shader vertex etc? Just want to make sure before I whip out my rather empty wallet heh.

here is some specs.. cant find my gfx card spec

Processor Name: Intel Core i5
Processor Speed: 2.3 GHz
Number of Processors: 1
Total Number of Cores: 2
4 gig ram

Also, would you recommend upgrading operating systems regardless of poe? or do a lot of people like the older OS like I preferred winxp for the longest time?

Pretty much the only reason to stay on older OS versions for OS X is to preserve the ability to play PPC games and applications. Otherwise, it's almost always beneficial to upgrade. Especially these days with the über cheap upgrades.

If you don't know you graphic card, what macbook you have? Macbook air or macbook pro 13'' 15'' etc.. If You have macbook air or pro 13'' then you must upgrade the OSX version, because intel graphics drivers in 10.6.8 are flawed...
I looked it up and know now it's a macbook pro 13 inch from early 2011.

Again just want to clarify before I spend money on this laptop that the problem I'm having will go away once I upgrade OS? The problem being unable to see anything but a black background with login screen and crashing upon starting. Also.. which OS should I get?

Thanks a lot for the help already.
Was working okay for the first two acts, but in act 3 it's just literally unplayable. I'm at docks and I get 1-3 second fps spikes just by having more than 3 mobs on the screen, and if I so dare to cast an attack it lags out for 4-10 seconds. I can't cast anything without the game freezing up and then finding myself dead a few seconds later because I was unable to do anything. I can't progress any further now.
