[OSX] Unofficial Path of Exile port - 30/12/2018 status update

Yah the 1.4.1 is great, I just get some FPS tankage here and there. Tried a couple other engines last night with the same results. In fact the highest version engine actually ran the smoothest out of the gate but then when I got into combat had some pretty bad fps droppage. Oddly eough I didn't even get the "freeze" that happens when you first summon skeletons/zombies/specters/totems for the first time with that one. Just the FPS drops in combat made it pretty much unplayable.

Doing this on a Summoner with all +minion nodes and double totems, usually arcx2 with quality lightning damge but also have flame totem with multiple projectiles that I use. So it is pretty graphics heavy, also have two auras and Minion Instability.

I found in the WS9Wine1.4.1 engine inviting to party or accepting an invite crashed my client.

I am getting a vertex shader error when the game is loading the first playable screen. I also couldn't see the characters when I picked my witch...any ideas on what to do? I am running winebottler w/ the newest version of wine installed.
I just finished patching and this shows up. What the heck do I do :(

and after I click okay repeatedly for a few moments this shows up

Hello fellow Mac gamers:

Here I present you the unofficial Path of Exile port for Mac.

Instalation instructions
Download, unpack, double click, play

___________________________________________________________________

Known Issues
The port inherits the rare bugs which may occure on windows, so you can expect crashes and/or graphical glitches.
The port is know not to run on some configuration by default with D3ERR_INVALIDCALL error (possible workaround below in FAQ)

FAQ
How to move contents from old wrapper

Copy "wrapper/drive_c/Program Files/Grinding Gear Games" to new wrapper (to same location)

How to disable gatekeeper - Mountain Lion only

Temporary workaround: Right click the wrapper -> Open
Permanent workaround: Open system preferences -> Search for gatekeeper-> allow all sources

Game won't start - fix

You can fix this by one of these solutions
1) reboot the OS X (the /tmp will get cleaned along with the lock file)
2) delete the lockfile from /tmp (the lock file will be named like "xWSxUsersxUsernamexblablaxtadatatada.app" (but make sure there are not any hanged wine processes)

This is new "safety" feature of wineskin 2.5.6 which is preventing from bad things to happen.

Game opens in too small window | Game does not want to enter fullscreen

Press CMD+Enter

Game will fail to load with D3ERR_INVALIDCALL

This may or may not help.
1) Right click the wrapper->Show contents
2) Open wineskin
3) select Advanced->Tools->Winetricks
4) from settings check glsl=enabled and click Run
5) close all Wineskin windows, and try to launch the game

Where can i find the logs?

1) Right click the wrapper->Show contents
2) navigate to Contents / Resources / Logs
3) The LastRunWine.log and LastRunX11.log are often needed when troubleshooting

Workaround for OSX 10.8.2 and 10.7.5

1) Download and install XQuartz 2.7.4
2) Open wineskin
3) select Advanced->Options
4) Check "Force use of system installed XQuartz instead built in WineskinX11
5) close all Wineskin windows, and try to launch the game

Hey, kinda need some help here. Haha :))
what OS version are you using?

EDIT:
On another note, I have a tendency to get random freezes using this wrapper. Has anyone else experienced this?

Also not sure if it is the wrapper or not but I cannot link items in chat (Ctrl + Alt + Click doesn't work)

EDIT 2:
Ok the wrapper was working fine, I crashed and now I can't restart it. I get the "cannot create audio buffer" error. It was just working and it suddenly stopped... I have never gotten that error from this wrapper before. Not sure why it suddenly started... I wonder if is is data corruption?

I don't support crossover/winebottler or anything else except my wrapper (or experiments with it) here.

Are you aware, that those screenshots are too small and cannot be read? ;)
Also, I didn't get if you solved that or not...

Freezes, well, I get them on windows too. So possible bug for bug behaviour.
The audio buffer actually seems that there is problem on your OS X or some wine process hanged, try restart osx.
Link items - it is possible that ALT is swapped with CMD key. (ctrl+cmd+click).

I restarted and I still get that audio issue. I have never gotten if before now with your wrapper, not sure what's up with that.

Also cmd lets me compare an item in my inventory with what I have equipped, so I don't believe they are swapped. I'm not sure if that bug is due to the winebundle or some other issue.

In addition, I cannot see some curses when they are cast (nothing appears over the enemies).
Also monkeys, Vaal constructs, and the oversoul are all invisible on my client.

The invisible mobs and missing spell particles are due to the wine engine in this wrapper as someone previously pointed out. If you go back a few pages you will find how to download and use other wine engines to fix this. Many people are having great success with the 1.4.1 wine version.

In wine version 1.4.1 I crash any time I try to join a party.

I'm updating wine via the terminal and I'll try it again after that is done.
