Currently lvl 59 on Onslaught act2. I'm a bit scared of Kraityn and Vaal tho :S
But the build is working out very well! Thx for that.

Remember I build up this character from nothing:

It looks ok.

Gear will come eventually. When you get CI you will start changing to ES gear.
Getting 4K ES is really not that hard.

At the moment you need more levels so hit those docks :).

Also since there is no chaos damage in docks and lunaris you can delay your switch until you decide to start doing maps.

Just keep your resistance capped and you shouldn't have a problem farming those areas.

Also for piety getting the following items you are pretty much immune to her.
They are dirt cheap also.
I always take them with me when I am fighting map piety.

Hey guys, im lvl 62 atm doing pretty well with this build, found 2 exalts allready. I just bought the unique flask ( at 1.5ex) almost perfect rolls

Just wanted to mention how does it works and some tips. In order to get the IIQ IIR you cant be on full life/mana cause it wont have an effect. The flask needs to recover you some mana or life to so you can get the buffs and it will last 5 sec max.

Since this build is CI you cant get any life so you need to be missing mana, what i usually do is turn off my clarity aura before i use the flask. This way i have like 400 missing mana so i use the flask to recover it which leaves you with enough mana to arc (in my case) many times and apply the culling strike with the IIR/IIQ on bosses and at the same time you are missing lot of mana so the flasks buff lasts fully 5 secs. After its done i turn Clarity back on and keep playing, i hope this helps people who use the flask.

Btw

gives you 1 more sec of flask duration and it really helps!

Note.
A level 20 raise zombie gem will add 32% fire 64% cold 32% lightning resistance.
Level 19 and below does provide any resistance what so ever.
Your first 20% quality gem should be the raise zombie. 20% minion life and 20% movement speed.
"

Nowhere that I know of does it say that lower level zombies have no resists, pretty sure Mark_GGG just picked level 20 as an example since thats what most endgame summoners will have. (not disagreeing that a 20/20 zombie is very high priority, ofc)

Thanks for the guide, I've respecced my summoner (was life based, with strong spectre focus) to this spec now. Damage is a bit low, but not having to worry too much about losing my precious spectres (2 spectres now, was 3 or 4 before) is a big plus. I'll still pop over to Solaris to pick up a couple before starting a session, but not going back there if I lose them.

Bit of a dilemma I've discovered and I hope you guys can help clear it up for me. I'm not to end game yet (level 58) but my build has mostly matured and I can see what the playstyle will be like for Maps. I'm currently using flame sentinels with LMP, Leech, and minion dmg. These are way out killing my zombies, which are Multi+splash. I also feel that I'm missing many culling killing blows because of the slow cast speed with Arc+Culling+IIR+IIQ.

In a few levels, I'll have access to a 5L chest.

My question is this: What is the best gear/gem setup and strategy to optimize my chances of having the most IIR+IIQ apply to a mob kill?

Should I try to put either IIQ or IIR on my spectres in my 5L? Should I put my Arc and Culling in my 5L with faster casting to land more culling killing blows? Or should I do as suggested and place IIR/IIQ with my zombies?

I hope I've explained well what my question/dilemma is. Let me know if you need any clarification. Thank you.

Your spectres may be killing faster, but the problem with depending on them is that it takes a completely different type of gear (and possibly build) setup. In the process, you will lose a good chunk of IIR/IIQ. Keeping them alive will become your main focus if you center in on them, because you have to go through a bit of trouble to obtain them and, if not careful, you can lose them in an instant. Regaining zombies, on the other hand, is much simpler.

If you are losing out on drops cause the spectres kill before your zombies, just drop the spectres.

I have a 5L right now and am running IIR with my zombies, and am doing just fine at the moment (I would link IIQ over IIR, but I average 4+ uniques every hour or two with my current setup so I will stick with it for now). I do not group a lot (cause many groups forbid summoners) and I am not quite prepared for full-on mapping, but zombies have not failed me yet in any non-map area and maps up to 69 (have not had a higher one drop yet).
Don't worry about IIR/IIQ that much at your level, just do whatever kills mobs fastest for now (which is, by a huge margin, spectres). You dont need a different build or anything for spectres, just switch around what is in your 5L and what is in your 4L. Even if spectres outdamage zombies, you can just try to cull with arc instead of linking zombies (or spectres for that matter) with MF gems. You wont cull all trash mobs ofc, but most bosses should be reliably culled.

Yes I know, but just because it says a level 20 zombie has these resists, you cant just assume a level 19 one has no resist! :)
Lvl 69 right now. Getting a little stuck obtaining new gear/switching to ES gear :/
