[2.0]Rathik's NEWBIE FRIENDLY FUN&CHEAP FARMER, DPS Summoner. High AOE DMG, SURVIVAL."The Matriarch"

My question while a little noob I dont think has been covered in the main article it's about IIQ and IIR, I have come to the understanding that IIQ it's 2.5xIIR, ¿should this be taken as a rule when buying for equipment? I assume that you made this guide when IIQ wasnt legacy, I do have my perfect perandus and my IIQ gem, but for other gear, i'll never get perfect IIQ/IIR, and for the prices they are going (9ex a 39IIR, 10IIQ) ¿is it a good idea to go for those? (I'm lvl 72) ¿or should I just get a perfect goldwyrms, perfect perandus, my IIQ gem and run IIR on all of my other gear? Thanks in advance for this guide, been using it since I started this my first character and it's been working wonders =) spent maybe a few extra regrets cause I was having a hard time with the Life-CI transition, but i'm now without a single problem =P

Yeah this guide was created long before iiq gem and iiq on items became legacy.

This is a good choice as first charachter. Don't bother even transition to ci if this is your first charachter. Just stay life based. There is no downside and it works just as well as energy shield based. Also i wouldn't even bother with magic finding until much later. It's expensive. The focus should be on other things.

But if you are going to make this a magic finder the go ahead and load as much iir and iiq items as you can. Your minions do all the work you can just focus on survival. Don't bother spending crazy amounts of currency on mf items even with small amounts you will notice a difference in rares and unique item drops.

You can buy some cheap mf items like these though:

http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Goldwyrm

That last link you posted really did help =) I was very confused but now it seems like I dont need that much IIQ as I belived =P, and well I already transitioned to CI, got a decent Vaal Regalia on my first Piety run and decided to go for it, I'm running a focused MF character as my first one cause I understand that in these games crazier builds require certain items =P this is my current gear:

The last two weapons are for gem leveling porpuses, you can notice my IIQ in there =P.

I got a Goldwyrm dropped the other day (19%), would you consider buying a legacy ones or the diference in IIQ doenst make up for the price?? I'm not having any problems with survavility so far, already beat dominus and it's not like I can do anything else at the moment =P thanks for your response =)
I'd recommend you to cull from your own minions with arc+iir+iiq. You can have it at your weapon swap if you want to. Also, jewel the armour ASAP, even if you just want it for leveling gems.

As for what IIQ and legacy is concerned you will have to buy 30 IIQ boots sooner or latter if you keep playing this game. I'm gathering some data, but my impresion is IIQ doesn't have a soft cap like IIR does at 300.

Sitting at 386/150 myself, I would pay way more than what the boots cost for 10 extra IIQ.

Firstly, I would like to thank you for this build. As a newbie to the game, this guide has been very useful in explaining almost every aspect of this summoner build.

However, I just got to Cruel's Dom and could not take him out. I had to get help by joining and leeching off other parties. Is there a strategy involved to take Dom down?

Next off, I don't know if I should go for white items with decent links or rares with good stats yet lousy links. Very lost as to where I should head into. I do have some decent amount of currency, but don't know what's a good improvement to get. Some help here please? (:

While leveling you just need 2x 4 links for your zombies and specters and 2x 3 links for skeletons and 2 auras with reduced mana.

You should go for the best stats possible. Making a 4L item by your self is not that hard.

If you can get a helmet with +2 minions it would really help.

You should try and get the uniques I listed, they are cheap and very useful.

EDIT

Put your specters in your helmet.
Use one orb of alchemy in your armour if you can't afford to buy a better one.
You should re read the gem and gear section and reposition your gems.
No need for me to look your tree, there is a very detail section in the guide on how to place your skills. Just copy from that.

So am I right to say that I should purchase the listed uniques, best if they are 4 linked? Till what level can these last me? And wil I be able to cap my resist, or not needed?
I'm a huge admirer of your work Rathik :)
I've been following your build, and I was wondering if it would be possible to make a slightly earlier transition into CI without having to use any valuable orbs of regret. grabbing only nearby life nodes, in way similar that could be similar to this:

Any ideas? Is it possible to transit into CI without using any orbs of regret?
also I'd like to ask, whether you recommend leveling up as a Scion or a Witch? I'm kinda new to this game and I only have two chars who just got into Cruel, Thank you very much :)

You want to go CI but keep the life nodes? I don't get what you mean.
Scion or Witch. There is no better. Choose one.
