Been away for awhile - what's new?

Hi all, I've been away from the game for a long time. I never got very far in it, my shadow making it to level 40 - and I stopped playing around February or January. I had a lot of fun playing, but my itch for pvp gameplay led me to playing a ton of League of Legends. I've been reading some of the patch notes and new spells/items added to the game, and it looks like a lot has been put into the picture.
I left because my Shadow, who I wanted to make a melee build, was feeling very weak, and would do far better just putting int-based ice spells on him, even though I was spec'd for melee. I didn't want to reroll, and I didn't know what else to do to make my character more viable, but I understand they've changed things a lot for melees since then. Anyone able to give me insight on the changes? Simply reading the patch notes doesn't put the changes into context, and with it being so long that I've been away from the game, it's hard to put it to a practical sense. |

Ele cleave is dead. Physical cleave is viable.
EK is dead. RF - FP - Shavrones is still OP. shadows are fine as melee, i use dual claw-bloodseeker build and it tears stuff up.
31% instant leech, no problem on 70 maps (havent tried higher yet) with 2.5k hp after blood magic auras, acrobatics+evasion, no armor. 17k dps after frenzy charges on dual strike with melee splash- cheap to build. only items that are worth anything are bloodseeker and bringer of rain--works just as well without bringer of rain.
