August 16 Progress Update

great job guys
Can't wait to see what the future will bring :)
for the glitches, i would say (not an expert) that there is an error in the rendering process.

Need a SS for it, but the colors are basic (no textures, just one color per artifact/object) and the object shapes are mostly a combination of triangular shapes that can go across the whole screen.

As i said am not an expert on graphics, but it seems that the process of defining the number of vertices per object isn't good/ prone to instability, causing the glitches.

For the origin of the problem i would blame the effects drawing system (the more elemental spells that are used, the sooner the glitches appear).

The other possibility is the z buffer issue that would make more sense in some cases (dungeons with pits that have no textures).

The last possibility that comes into my mind is the mem fragmentation. Too much objects without perfect mem management could lead to mem fragmentation resulting in the invalid coordinates of the vertices or their number.

Also there is a possibility of the lag causing the drawing issue .Maybe you have not seen this issue because of the game testing in higher speed networks.

P.S. Dont kill me if i said something wrong, just trying to help (as i said am not an expert) :)
Kristen for president! :)

They are not "polishing the game". They are adding completely new features and game content.

There's an easy solution - pay the $10.

You know what? I´d happily do so, if there were more payment options. Only PayPal and CC options will really hurt the game in the long run because many ppl dont like these two, myself included.

Your other option is to take a trip to New Zealand and go to the devs directly, and pay them. ;)
Sometimes you can take the game out of the garage but you can't take the garage out of the game.

Oh. That sounds great. I bet you'd even get a real life kiwi for it.

Arrows are now real projectiles rather than faked long-range melee attacks. This means they can be dodged by running out of the way, as well as by the evasion roll.

Does this include wand projectiles as well? Alira's projectiles seem to work the same way archers' arrows currently work, meaning they can't be physically dodged.

Over a year of beta, one million dollars in revenue and still not released?

The support packs DO NOT speed game completion. They delay it.

The support packs are an excuse to keep the beta extended as long as possible and using the excuse of "polishing the game".

Starve GGG for money and see how fast the game gets released and the micro transaction system is accessible.

The ARPG model is not new and their graphics engine isn't groundbreaking. There is no reason for over a year in beta unless GGG is greedy, incompetent or both.

You realize this game is being developed by a team of only 18 people, don't you?

As far as i am concerned there are only 3 URGENT issues to be fixed:

1. Hit Detection / Netcode. Get rid of the phantom hits, lag deaths and such.
2. Loot system. FFA is just outdated and unfair and most of the ppl who post in threads regarding loot system do not like it.
3. Feedback from the game in fights. I have to compare PoE to D3 in this spot. D3 fighting feels way more meaty, faster, generally more fun.

If GGG would improve these 3 subjects i would be totally satisfied. I could even wait for act 3 another year.
