Haha I realise I used your build instead if the op, but yea basically the same thing with acrobatics.

That was what my previous post meant. Very strong; however, with the no armor, kole 1 shots me with his slam sometimes...got a 98% increased armor granite flask I'm gonna try next time. Other than kole....and probably blacksmith, everything else melts...

I'm level 72.

I'd like a bit more accuracy..@84% ATM. Think it would be beneficial to move 2 points from somewhere and grab that 20% accuracy at the starting area?

Dps is around 9.5k frenzy, 8k double strike on my char sheet-obviously more factoring in all the juicy crit.

Around 3k life--be nice to have more...

Yeah I would recommend you to aim for 90% accuracy, so pick those 20% nodes up as u go and u can always regret them when you get more acc on gear!

I have an almost exact build that I've been working on, but it has a lot more Evasion at the expense of life. Are you finding this ok? I'm considering that I don't have enough life and crit, so that 6 points I have in the Evasion/Energy Shield nodes might be better spent.
IGN: Bahnzo <--- that should find me.

Almost the same!*

Here's what I'm going with.

For HC I wish I could get more HP, but ultimately Ondar's + Acro/PA takes up more points than IR. I think for HC both end up being good, Acro/EV is better effective hitppoints on average but as at some point a really huge hit is going to sneak through all your avoidance.

I also wish I had the points to get another 20% acc node, just to hit 90%. With this build you'll want a pretty good amount of accuracy on your gear.

*Revenge of the hunted is a nice node. Getting that cluster over more straight HP depends on how much you value evasion vs. HP I suppose. If it was one point cheaper to get to, I'd be all over it :)

Thanks for the tree :D!; I'm trying it in onslaught!

but can you update your title? IT still says it's on 11.1 version and you uploaded your 11.2 build already :D! Cheers man!

Cool, thanks for posting it.

You said, you're going for Kraityn in Cruel, which is 8% attack speed, but you didn't get the 8% attack speed at the Ranger. Why?

How much evasion do you have? Do you have the same gear as before the patch? Do you use Bringer of Rain? What shield do you use? How much block do you have? How much mana leech do you have? I'd love to watch a video with the updated build :d.

I started leveling a Ranger some days ago, she's level 57 right now, the build is a bit different, this is what I'm going for for level 78. Didn't get Frenzy charges, single target is not that important, and I don't know, if I will link Frenzy or not, and without the links, it's pretty bad, Double Strike is better, I think (I could just use Double Strike for everything, that's pretty cool, because I'm lazy as fuck; maybe I'll respec into Frenzy charges, when I can link Frenzy). I'll check how much evasion I have, after I buy gear, and I'll get Nullification based on that. Don't know (yet) how much projectile attacks hurt, maybe I'll get Ondar's Guile. The life nodes (6-6-10 and 6-6-16) at the bottom are about 5.56 life/node (if I get Shield Block, Shield Defences and Dexterity, instead of nothing (Dual Wield Damage), maybe I'll respec). I'll see how much life I have, after I get gear. I'm playing on Anarchy, maybe I won't get them :d. But 50% is so much, fuck me. Dunno. I still have Primal Spirit and Thieves Craft, I had to get attributes, I'll probably respec out of them. I'll probably post here, when I finalize my build. I really like the build, it's pretty fun.

Well the thing is that frenzy is not only for single target. If you can get 3-4 charges up your DPS on your main spell will boosted by a lot.

I'm trying out a build really similar to this, though I picked up the 8% at the start of the ranger. Seems a pretty fun build1
IGN : Duct
Got to level 67, I'm gearing up my character. Bought an ilvl 72 Evasion 5L. I got RRRRG, before I got RRRGG, it's pretty cool. I burned like 5 stacks of chromatics. I got this on my first alch:
Chest
It's ok; I don't think, I will reroll it. Also Sharkskin looks awesome, much better, than the Armor/Evasion ones (I have Battle Lamellar on my EK Shadow, it's ugly :d).
Edit: Finished gearing up, here's my gear:
Gear
Started having mana issues because of the 5-link, maybe I'll use a second mana potion. My DPS is at 8648 (with Hatred; 9687 on full life), I'm clearing Docks really fast. I'm at 3078 Life, that's kinda low. 5669 evasion (with Grace), 48% chance to block attacks, 75% elemental resists (stopped using Purity, because I don't need it; I'm still leveling it for Elemental Weakness maps), -60% chaos resist, 4% mana leech, 3% life leech, 191 unreserved mana.

Edit 2: I made a video in Docks. Watch it, if you want to know, how the build works while farming at level 68. Watch the other videos in the playlist, if you want to see it while leveling. I'll make more videos, when I get to maps.

I'm at level 73, 2.9k hp after blood magic+grace

12k tooltip double strike.

Using bringer of rain - purity, hatred on mana.

Could use more life but 69 maps are going pretty easily
This build has definitely piqued my interest as a viable melee Ranger based on evasion+Dodge.

This would be my skill tree with Oak/point/point build at 119 points.

Gem links:

Gloves: Double Strike + MPD + MStrike + Blind

Chest: Double Strike + MStrike + MSplash + Blind + LoH

Boots: Grace + Tempest Shield + Hatred + RM

Helmet: Bear Trap + Culling Strike + Lightning Warp + Decoy Totem

Shield: Whirling Blades + Flicker Strike + Faster attacks

Dagger: Enfeeble + Critical Weakness + RM

I think the main issues of this build is keeping up high accuracy, evasion, and mana. Mana can be solved through Mind Drinker and either Mana flasks or Hybrid flasks. High evasion depends on the gear (esp the Chest, Helm, and shield), and accuracy is hopefully solved by high dex. I'll probably give this build a try once the Anarchy league ends.

Update: After retooling my old ele Ranger from the last patch, I had a crap ton of fun with this Ranger. I'm leaving the Acrobatics cluster in the late 80s to attain and focusing on more defense in before that. Mana is surprisingly not an issue nor is accuracy at 85% to hit at lvl 73. (32% crit chance, which ain't half bad.) Trying to get RRRGG on my 5L/5S chest burnt over 100 chromatics to no avail... I hate the crafting in this game at times. Hopefully I'll get enough chromatics from Anarchy league and have another go at it. (want to do this build from scratch.)

This is a great build; the dodge and evasion are very viable. The Bringer of Rain is perfect for this build - the blind, combined with your evasion + dodge + block, makes it possible to face bosses without even getting hit once (I hardly ever get hit). Even with my health around 2.5k, it is enough to survive the occasional hit from Kole etc which manages to get through, and leech back my life very quickly.

One could also use granite flasks for extra survivability, although the armor boost will be halved due to the Acrobatics passive. For extra caution I sometimes use the Enfeeble curse against bosses.

I originally had followed this build with my Ranger using daggers, but I tried an axe (Soul Taker), resulting in a drop to my crit chance but my overall DPS was boosted. The axe allows me to continue auto-attacking even with no mana so my total sustained DPS in a drawn-out fight is further increased. I don't mind the lower crit chance, as this helps against physical reflect mobs which can be a bit dangerous if you have high crits.

I also use an Eye of Chayula which I found, which prevents stuns and results in no block downtime. Another possible amulet to use is the Stone of Lazhwar which will provide some spell block to nicely complement your spell dodge, as well as increasing your mana pool.

The downsides to using the above are that you will have to look for mods on your other gear that gives +life and resistances (and preferably also +physical damage) - which can be hard to find. With a few flasks you can solve your resistances for fights, but I have found the +life aspect to be quite challenging in terms of providing significant increases to my life pool.

My ranger is now level 80 and handles maps very well. DPS is 11.6k with no buffs/no auras, I do not have a specific single-target as I have found this DPS level to be more than enough. I can post my tree if anyone is interested. The gems I use are:

In Bringer of Rain: Double Strike - Melee Splash - Multi Strike - Life Leech.

I use Flicker Strike to initiate and help force correction to desync. It is linked with Melee Physical Damage - Melee Damage on Full Life and Elemental Proliferation.

I also use Hatred / Haste / Grace, Blood Rage, Tempest Shield, and Enfeeble occasionally.
