[1.0.6] CI Crit Dagger Shadow (30k DPS Flicker Ninja) [OB video up!]

Have had a lot of fun with your build but got myself killed recently on HC @ lvl 55, couple of shock stacks and it was over quickly :(. My first attempt at your build and didn't really have decent enough ES gear to do what I was doing but it had been fun none the less.

I think I'll create another one and take more care to tweak the points to what I need based on my current gear. Thanks for the guide!

Edit: Just as a note, something I noticed that was lacking for me was accuracy so I guess next time round I'll try to pickup some item with a decent amount of +accuracy to counter that.

Yep that is one problem in general playing a CI build but most notably a melee CI build, the transition from HP to ES can be very difficult, especially if you do not have stashed gear to help. Inva made a brilliant guide that is incredibly informative and resourceful for players of all levels but what I think some people are starting to realise is it can be tricky to build because at the end of the day it is still very gear dependent simply cause of the cross over from hybrid to CI.

It is far more difficult to play a build like this from a fresh stash (1 week events etc) than just on the standard hardcore league where you have a good amount of currency and items available.

For quite some time now I have been creating builds using only self found items on that character as this really helps me know how that particularly build works whilst leveling, with little to no stash, which is extremely useful in knowing and preparing for week events or open beta. Too many builds are far too unrealistic in terms of what gear is needed and the leveling process becomes incredibly difficult when you do not have crazy amounts of gear or currency to fall back on.

Noob question here :s
With so high damage, how do you deal with monsters with reflect?
Also thank you for a super guide, it was an interesting read! :)

I tend to use Lightning Strike as my main skill against mobs with physical reflect (because LS is only 50% physical) I also pop granite flasks fairly often to guard against physical reflect.

I think I added a gameplay video in the level 69 necropolis map which had a reflect physical mod on it. Just be careful and you'll do fine :)

You're welcome!

I am a complete noob. So far the build has been pretty good. Still on the first difficulty, but I have found I run out of mana so fast. I don't really have a bank on items to trade or craft my stuff up. My survivability is also awful, so I am stuck grinding gear before I can kill Vaal even on the first difficulty.

Thanks for the advice.

Yeah this was pretty much my first higher level (relatively speaking) character so he had no stash items to help him out and it was purely whatever dropped and I could trade for with my limited resources. I will play this build again at release since it was so fun but not until I have a farming character up who can get me some decent equips in advance.

I wouldn't say this is unrealistic for a newcomer as I'm sure I could have made it further if I played more carefully but it isn't for the person who wants an easy ride to victory haha.

I'm pretty sure in the race events the drop rates are tweaked higher than normal so if that's the case, it's not really a good example of what it's like to play from scratch. It should be much easier in OB however due to having a proper trading system + more people playing.

I've been playing POE for about a week. I picked a Marauder to duo with my wife, but the build is kinda meh. I leveled a bow Templar to 12 and a Witch to 30. The witch is fun (cold/crit build) but the final boss fight in Normal was a bit of a pain.

This afternoon I tried this build. My shadow is level 15 or so, and the entire time I played I couldn't stop laughing. I'm having more fun with my shadow than I did with any character in PoE, D3 or Torchlight. I'm using a double strike gem and a flicker gem and absolutely shredding everything. Mana regen is a problem, as is survivability at times but it's just a blast to play.

Thank you!

No worries, and no the drop rates are the same for the race events as they are in default and hardcore league.

It is solely because of RNG, there may be many occasions where you seem to be getting the worst loot, and this can even span over a character from level 1-60 and then you can quite easily get multiple characters after which are always getting great drops, it is purely RNG :)

Also, with it being RNG there will still be the chance that some players in general are far more unlucky than others, that will always happen too.
Couple questions.

1. At what difficulty should I start using/looking for a shield to replace dual wield.

2. Would it be good to start switching over to energy shield gear as I get it in cruel?
