If so, yikes. We'll definitely have to take a different route for Vaal Pact, completely changing this build...

Yeah, in general it is probably better to do an evasion hp shadow now rather than CI. I was actually looking about swapping it to a ranger now, an Evasion crit hp dagger build would work, but the CI melee builds are pretty much all dead with the loss of vaal pact. Its too far to go around to get to as well so if you want to do a CI melee build you need to go scion now. I am drawn between using the scion or ranger build for the new league though. I think it really depends on what uniques are available in the new leagues.

Disregard inner force, acquire influence. Only real difference between this set up and my old one is no Ondar's Guile or Inner Force.

I dont know if it works just as well as the original build but it is worth a try.
This is my complete tree:



IMHO the only and biggest downside is the fact that you are no longer able to run 4-5 auras. You will have to learn how to live with just 2, most likely they will be hatred and discipline.
You will also have abit less ES due to not having many intelligence nodes since you will be going down to the ranger tree. ( My shadow has 5.8k ES now, before the patch it had almost 7k)

I've found that the loss of Vaal Pact, albeit a nice skill not to be completely game breaking for this build. After respeccing my lvl 87 ci crit shadow I've the same amount of auras (2), a roughly comparable dps (pretty much everything melts at my touch.) and my ES hasn't noticeably been impacted. The new mobs are pretty cool, but like all AI in this game if you are aware of it's capabilities you can lean how to play against it.
