I respec'd to CI with 1k ES and farmed Merciless Ledge just fine. Currently in Act 3 merciless with almost 3k ES and not too many problems except my resistances.

Get this in your head, you are melee, STR is not your enemy. We all would like to be pure dex/int if it was effective , its not, you need the stats.
