PoE Helper (unofficial chrome extension to help with crafting/inventory)

steps for the dodgy work around would probably be something like:

1) get a zip of the extension source code from github:

https://github.com/njs50/poe_ext/zipball/master

2) unzip it to someplace you can find it

3) type chrome://extensions into your address bar in chrome

4) click load unpacked extension, find the folder from 2) and select the poe_ext folder inside it, click okay. it is might be confusing because you probably have a poe_ext folder with another poe_ext folder inside it, sorry! you want the inner most poe_ext folder (i think!)

5) make sure it's enabled

....

installing this way will prevent auto update from running so if there is ever an update in the future you'll have to go through this junk again.

on the bright side you'll have the full source code there. that's one step from forking the project on git and sending updates back to me :p

enjoy!

edit: i've also updated the instructions on page 1 in case anyone needs them.

Kind of forgot about this, it seems to be puking on Vaal Orbs.

Is it possible to get this added to the Chrome Web Store? Mine just got permanently disabled by Google since it isn't from there.

I already sent them feedback saying that's bullshit.

Mine has been disabled also, what a shame :/
there were some instructions a few posts up and on the first page if you really want to get it going again. Bit of mucking around tho and no more auto updates.

I followed the directions exactly.

All went well until I started up the Chrome app itself.

Here is the error:

I am using "35.0.1916.153 m" version of Chrome:

Properly displaying in my extensions tab as well as properly enabled:

And able to launch from the Chrome://apps menu:

Steps I've taken in attempt to address the issue:

1) Tried turning it off and on again (I used the button...)

2) Uninstalled the extension/app; restarted Chrome; reinstalled extension.

Any ideas for #3?

that error indicates you're not logged into this site in chrome, or that this site is not responding (happens during maint for example).

the errors in your javascript console indicate perhaps something is blocking the extension from making network requests. you could do a quick test by disabling all your other ones and seeing if that helps...

for what it's worth i just tried installing it on my PC (Chrome Version: 35.0.1916.153 m) and once i'd remembered to log into this site (and clicked remember me) I didn't have any issues with it.

that's on a completely clean install (i normally use my mac).

You were correct.

Once I disabled all my other extensions, it worked like a charm.

Thank you!
Installed but I do not see the PoE Helper bar, even after restarted Chrome and disabling all other extensions.
