Item Allocation Specifics

a ladder system as a reward, funny comparison. its designed to test themselves, which is also the point of FFA, testing yourself against other players in the group, thanks for proving my point of competitiveness.

Yes but in one there is a reward or at least some incentive and the other there is not. Why FFA or timer now? They are less efficient mode without any incentive to play. There is no reason to play these modes anymore outside of some fringe case uses.

and again efficiency has nothing to do with why people would, or would not use a system.

This entire game is based around efficiency.

its based on preference, not everyone does the Safety Dance (old song ftw). and the reward for playing such a mode with fast reflexes is obviously, the loot they gain? competition, im not saying A LOT will use, but it all has to do with your play style.

No it isn't based on preference. That's like saying taking physical damage nodes over health nodes is, "preference". One is clearly more efficient than the other. In this case permanent allocation is clearly more efficient than anything else in pubic groups.

I'd like to say that I really like the new system setup, but I do have one concern.

On permanent allocation mode, if a players inventory is full and that persons wishes for other people to pickup an item allocated to them in order to keep the run going is there any way for the system to notice this without having to wait an allotted 5 minute wait timer to pickup an item.

Shows how Pro You are. If your inventory is full Get rid of the crap. 95% of all the gold gear is crap. if you cant manage your inventory GTFO, If you want others to have it pick the dammed gear up because you have cleared the inventory and drop the shit and STFU.

Since you already mention and are aware of Temp Allocation , Shows how much you Think before you write/speak.

You want to act like a hero and give away/Not pick up the crap stuff when on P.A GTFO Scrubo who cares about crap stuff. You would not even be thinking about it if an exalt/mirror/6L drops.

Crap gears are crap no matter for whom it is.

If GGG implements a maps-to-douches system, you'd get even the unique maps...

Very mature and reflective review of my post. Although I don't whole-heartedly disagree with all of your sentiment. There are situations, for instance, such as races where it may be much more cost effective to collect all garbage rares to vendor for alterations rather than trying to purchase them. Regardless, i am sure i am not pro enough to rebutt your post.

While if I had my way, it would always be FFA loot. I suppose it was bound to eventually happen that GGG would have to accommodate. I guess at least giving options is the best way to go.
At least I can finally turn off the annoying loot timers when I play with friends.

But you can have it your way. Having the option for other people to do it otherwise is literally a win win situations for everyone; no one will bitch about their loot being stolen in your group, and I won't have to watch my shit get ninjad because it is made impossible. This change will make the game so much more enjoyable for a large portion of players that don't enjoy this sort of forced PvP element.

I agree. This will certainly prompt me to join parties more.
Hmmm...
Can anyone even point me out which benefits you get from playing in the party? Since you get defenitelly less loot in the party, since each party member add only 50% of the loot quantity, so, say, if you are alone get 100 items from the map, with one additional member you will get 150 items, which after sharing will be 75, with 3 members its 66 items, with 4 members its 62 and so on. So, which the point?

I am used party only for getting XP faster, since my characher was weak, that can be the point.

Why one whould share his map for public? Unable to handle it alone? ok.. Bored to death? ok.. Trying to find a sane ppl to build a map group in to the future? probably. But anything beyond this?

Ah, and by the way, as it stated 100500 times all maps should go to maker, not just white.

You miss the underlying implications and intentions of his post. The scenario which he depicts does not warrant any kind of changes save for his intentions.

also @TheCIA
Even if you consider a party race scenario. Nothing would change, If you are on high level maps and area's you would still keep your inventory clean and weigh your options before picking up a loot , maintaining sufficient space for the important loot. at lower levels of the race it would not even be significant enough to matter or cause concern .
Domine Non Es Dignus
well done GGG for listerning to marjority of players and giving us this option ;-)

He was so arrogant and insulting that I didn't even care to read his post. In any case, he is talking about levels I haven't reached yet, so I would fall into that "u r not pro so STFU" category.
Thanks GGG for listening to the players. Best dev team ever.
