Why am I so poor?

I haven't even gotten a character past level 47. The experience flow seems to tank so hard at that point, that I can't stay interested in my characters.

Your passive spec is terrible, and I think you are wasting all the gear you're wearing with your skill choices.

All you have is 10 increased item quantity. This is the most important stat for magic find farming. You can add rarity when you have enough kill speed to wipe out everything as soon as you see it. Sell that Andavarius for a bunch. Keep the Eye of Chayula certainly, stun immune and the stats for your skills are essential.

I'd switch you to full ice spear, since you aren't focused enough on minions or traps to make them useful. You probably figured out ice spear destroys corpses a lot, so minions are not ideal.

You are gonna need a few regrets. Ice Spear Spec, this can be expanded for more ES, or for more mana regen easily.

Take your 5-link and change the colors of the sockets. Use Ice Spear + GMP/LMP + Crit Chance + Item Quantity + Faster Casting/Mana Leech (depending on mana needs). If freeze duration is too low use LMP instead of GMP, you aren't trying to shotgun Ice Spear, you want it to be defensive with its freezes.

Use Disc, Purity, and maybe Clarity and Grace. Swap Purity for Haste if you don't need the protection or need the mana.

For curses, I'd use Temporal Chains for defense and Crit Weakness for farming or killing single targets quicker.

For Traps, I'd just use one, maybe a bear trap since you have one leveled and it's good for messing with fast bosses.

For Totems, I'd use a Ranged Totem with Power Siphon + Fork/GMP + Increased Item Quantity.

I'd also run Blood Rage at all times.

Should I quit my cushy-comfy full-time well paid job so I can I dedicate the freed up time to become virtually rich but cash-poor in RL? How many of you un/underemployed Europeans and Americans would trade for my position?

Every online games there r people that spend 12 hours per day trading, barely plays the game, and hoard shit, thats not playing for me, thats a job, and i already have one, so i play for fun self found.

I'm dirt poor too, but the game is still fun.
I barely find rares but it's exciting when I do.
Just have fun with it, I used to be upset about being poor, but now since I don't give a shit about it the game is a lot more fun

The reason why players feel poor is because they are *playing* the game. Just like in D3, if you want to get wealthy and/or own top items in PoE then you have two choices:

1. Work the markets which in PoE's case means dealing with trade chat spam and/or forum trade.
2. Use real money to buy crap from a 3rd party web site.

If I achieved all the endgame gear on my character quickly by buying currency and playing the economy trading game by spamming trade channel endlessly, I would probably quit the game, since "I win".

Im poor too, been playing this game for 2 months, probably all the stuff on my account is worth like 3 exalts, never found any item in merciless yet that made me go "wow", lol, but I guess it keeps me playing..

..chasing that imaginary carrot at the end of the stick.

You should be able to get at least 0.5 alts per minute just playing the game inefficientely. Assuming 1 exa is worth 640 alts => 1280 minutes for 1 exa => 21.3 hours of inefficient gameplay for 1 exa.

It is one rare item per minute. Possible with maps if you are really fast, no way in other places.

They nerfed Lunaris Temple so bad, that Kole has more chances to drop unique than rare. LOL

You are forgetting that you get fusings, chromatics, transmutation, chaos, gcp, jeweller orbs, 3-colored equips, 6 socket items, augmentation orbs, regal orbs, etc.

All those items have a value in alterations.
