BotW#7: Elemental Equilibrium Burning Bow Templar 0.9.11

Oh yeah, I won! I'm Wraeclast's next Build of the Week!
Go there

Unfortunately, Chris didn't find my auras. I asure you, Burnhard is one-shotting those squids!
I was really interested to see this build in action.

I was kinda disappointed that you weren't getting quite the damage I was expecting, until I realized that Chris wasn't using all of your spells.

Would it be possible for you to record a video of you playing?

Please, Please, Please!
Well, I'll see what I can do, but sorry, I'll be very busy in the next 2 weeks.
But I can give you an idea about how much damage the auras add:

While posting this, I also just noticed how much chris screwed this up. Apparently, wrath is my only source of lightning damage, so in this case the EE-debuff from the spark totem would get overwritten. Oh well.
Alright, I couldn't let this stand, so I tried my best to record my playstyle. Don't know, if this works, but here you go.

I have another 8 min. of footage to be uploaded. This will follow later.

In this video, I take on monsters one level above mine, so it's more of a challenge, but you can see that most mobs fall within 2 shots and AoE damage is quite respectable.
You can also see, that I cannot take a lot of hits, but I'm far from being a glass cannon and since I will exclusively take further hp-passives, I don't think this will change too much in the end game.
Okay, here's the other video.

Have fun and tell me if there's trouble with the video.

Edit: I should say, I use the free version of fraps which only allows me to do 30s videos. That's why some stuff is missing, but don't worry, I didn't cut anything out.

Hi everybody,

it's been some time, I know. However, I've played around with burnhard quite a lot in the last 2 weeks and I wanted to give you guys some sort of final verdict on the build. With patch 9.12, burnhard will undergo some retraining, but haven't desided how. More on that topic at the end of the post!

Anyways, let's start by looking at the "final" lvl 61 build:
Burnhard_61

So I took took most of the reachable life nodes which was extremely important. There are more in the middle which I'd get by lvl 70, I guess. At the moment I run with armor gear (31% damage reduction; ~40% with molten shell which I always forget to cast!) with primary mod-focus on hp (around 2k life+ES), then elemental damage, attack speed and resists. I'm still undecided wheather going full ES would be better. Really, no clue what's better.

Another noteworthy choice was to take static blows for even more damage enhancement and it works fantastic. I do quite a lot of lightning damage with wrath and gear and elemental prolipheration causes monsters to be multiply shocked quite often. I love it! By now, I find this combo much more usefull than elemental equilibrium, but they work well together.

This brings me to another point. I also played around with my main combo. I tried replacing chance to ignite with greater multiple projectiles. The idea behind it was that I don't need as high of an ignite chance if I hit 5 times at once; sounds logical right? The other, more important, fact is that this way the shock ailments can stack up much more easily without explicitly aiming at different monsters. However, having gmp+elem.prol.+weap.elem.dam. cost a lot of mana! So in the end I was to lazy to tweak the build for that. Maybe I'll prepare a quick video of that before tuesday.

Final comments:
It's a fun an nifty build; just how I like my builds. However, it's not the most efficient and it involves a lot of micro. So people complaining about a 1-attack spam fest should be happy with this diversity.
Hmm, that's all that comes to my mind right now.

So what next? Firstly, this build can be altered quite a lot. Here's what I thought:

Alternative build 1: Burnhardette (witch)
prim. attack: (quality)fireball+gmp+cold+ignite+elem.proli.
sec. attack: fire trap+inc. aoe+conc. aoe+cold
prim. support: spark+totem+cold(+pierce+gmp+faster proj+duration)
support: molten shell+cold
passives: EE, static blow, burn/spell/elem./fire damage, ES, mana
comment: might be very tricky! In the end, I might very well respec EE and utilize pure fire with shock support.
Tree(s):
Something like this
or that (with a few minions)

Alternative build 2: Burnhardinho (dualist)
essentially the same build, but a dualist.
Here's the new tree:
Burnhardinho

Okay, I gotta go now. But I have two more videos of burnhard doing a map an pyramid. I'll post them when they're uploaded.
y this is a nice try but i think a ice arrow shadow wit over 10k Energie Shield and maybe even summons is way saver then ur 1k hp fire archer..... simply cos ice arrow will be added next patch & the shadow can hit chaos immunity & all the projectile dmg increses at archer side
wait.. im so confused, how can you be using all 3 auras??

that would give you Lightning / fire / cold damage which causes no effect wiith EE.. they cancel out

Hi,
I'm a bit late with my answer, but in case anyone still cares, here's the answer.
Hitting with all three elements does not apply the EE effect, BUT it also doesn't remove one!
So you can hit with a lightning+cold spell to reduce the fire res by 50% for 4 sec. For that time you can shoot as many fire+ligh+cold arrows as you want and the EE debuff will boost the fire damage.
There you go.
