its either 5 magic items, or 5 rare items, of the same item type, like say thicket bow. When you sell 5 rare thickets you get 1 unidentified rare thicket. and same for magic, get 1 unidentified magic thicket bow.

But this thread is news to me, in that you will be able to see the number of sockets on the item you are getting before you send the trade through, meaning if you have say 10 thicket bows, you have 252 different combos of putting 5 bows into the vendor window to try and get more sockets on it, its all random, could get a 6L on first try, but like someone said, more than likely need 4-10k tries to get a 6l lol.

On hardcore we had someone get lucky nad fuse his 6 socket thicket with 1 fusing. Only 6L on hardcore that i think exists.

The recipe is:

5x magic/rare/unique item = 1x same item of same rarity (unidentified).

- The result of the recipe can be seen before the transaction is completed. This reveals the item's intrinsic stat, and it's socket configuration.
- A different combination of input items generates a different output item.

Consequently, if you possess more than the minimum number of inputs, you can rearrange them until you get an optimal output without ever having to actually sell anything.

More inputs = more combinations* = more changes for optimal output. (*see my list above).

As we have heared this 'detail' of the recipe (that you can see the sockets before the transaction is made) will be corrected, since Chris said it devalues some orbs and that is not the intended behaviour.
