Has GGG killed wanders in PoE2

Is the build archetype of wander dead?

I haven't seen anything related to attack wands in the reveals. I think I saw Power Siphon as a skill in a wand somewhere but I don't know if it was the same skill as found in PoE1 or something entirely different.

It would be a shame if wanders weren't a thing in PoE2.

While there is a decent amount of teasers out there, it will never come close to covering everything there is in the game.

Zizaran has a post on reddit asking people to leave questions for him to ask in his interview with Jonathan, leave the question there and maybe he picks it up.
I’m sure one of the classes that is not included in EA will specify on wands. Since wands are not relevant to early access because of this case they took them out of the loot pool.
Wands are not martial weapons in PoE2, you can't attack with them. Former wand attacks like Power Siphon are now spells.

There will be wands at EA start, they mostly provide Witch related skills (chaos, curse, bone).

Seriously? We need a paid streamer to communicate with the devs? You can't be serious. How about this thread?

Communication is Important
At Grinding Gear Games, we've always treated communication with the community as a priority. I spend several hours of each day on external communication (that's not counting answering emails), but feel that we can still improve the way that we communicate with you guys. This article explains some of the ways that we're planning on improving communication in the short term:

this is actually pretty smart from their part. outsourcing any public contact this day and age is prob one of the best decisions company can make. not to mention that is also drives the algorithms and inherently promotes the game. win on all fronts
people just tend to forget that maybe just maybe "wander archetype" is just a crutch to rely upon
i don't see the same reaction from the "flicker dudes" because the skill will only be usable with quarterstaffs

poe 2 is another game they aren't breaking any poe 1 builds...we will have other archetypes, probably defined by mixing supports outside of the recommended tab when using some unique or ascendancy

i say, sometimes getting out of the comfort zone is good for everyone
You can expect all PoE 1 archetypes to be outdated in regards to PoE 2. If it's generic enough to say "use wands," then okay, you will be able to play with wands. If you expect to plug a PoE 1 build into PoE 2 with minor adjustments, then you are likely going to fail miserably.

Remember, early access right now is only showing 1/3 of the total Ascendencies, primary qualifiers for the various build archetypes. I don't know of anywhere GGG said one way or the other that wands would not be in early access, but if they are not it's because wands are not yet game ready.

You can thank Reddit for them not talking to us directly anymore
Chill. There are not even Swords yet in the game.
