Mac Client - PoE Repeat Crashing - Macbook Pro M4 Max

I’m experiencing the same issues with the Mac client for Path of Exile.
Here’s a summary of the issues: Frequent Crashes: The game crashes within a few minutes of playtime. Connection Issues: When launching POE via Steam, I frequently encounter an "unable to connect to the server" error when logging in. I’ve identified a strange workaround for the logging-in issue that might help others: When I log in, I can reach the character selection screen, but if the characters on the screen are not fully rendered, the game crashes when I attempt to log in. To avoid the crash, I immediately log out, switch between one or two other servers (which still fail to connect), and then quit the game entirely. After waiting a moment and relaunching, the game usually connects to the server successfully. When the characters on the screen are fully rendered, the game launches and works properly. While this workaround helps temporarily, it’s cumbersome and not a permanent solution. My internet connection is stable, and my Mac system exceeds the game’s requirements. For your reference, here are my system specifications: Apple M2 Max / Mac OS (Sequoia 15.1) / 64 GB RAM I appreciated a previous post that suggested using the Windows version via different methods. Personally, it's too much tinkering on my system, especially when its my main work computer. It's funny, I run Windows 11 perfectly via Parallels, but Direct X isn't support for many games so unfortunately I can't use that environment, which kind of sucks. If I could afford it, I'd rather just get a Windows PC for gaming. At the end of the day, if you are offering certain platforms, then the end user really shouldn't have to seek out a workaround. Its just bad business. Last edited by WOE2U#7265 on Nov 18, 2024, 1:30:02 PM

" Did you see the solution above ? |
|
" It works pretty well. There is an issue with updates occasionally but there is a message in the discord channel how to resolve that if it happens. |
|
" Yes, trying it now. But I do think more people reporting is a good thing to increase visibility and share more use cases/OS versions etc. |

I have the same problem. The standalone Mac client tries to update and then crashes.

BowWizard#1239, thing you offer is not solution, it is workaround. Stop spamming it. M1 will not be able launch poe smoothly via Windows. I do not even have free space to download one more poe
