Why so many covered "balances"
So yeah, for the past 5-6 leagues I have been playing only wardloopers and autobombers, I like them and it's the only thing keeping me in poe right now, because it's the only game were carefully calculating you can automate stuff (don't ask me why I just like it cuz I work as an automation engineer and I automate everything in my life)...
So why all this hidden "we buffed ward regeneration but we nerfed olroth and iron flasks in return"... I didn't play last league but from what I know the only build using ward were wardloopers, cuz ward sucks outside olroth flask. Last league I didn't play, but this league I really like the city development and league after league this build got hit after hit, first the nerf to cwdt, after removal of alternate gems, now hatred is only for attacks based, olroth is nerfed, dying sun is moved to 1% shaper drop ( didn't even get reworked as they so likely bluntly put it) Why do they like nerfing everything and coating it in the "we did this in return, don't worry things are still working"... Now I am really sad I paid nvidia now for 3 month's to play PoE, right now I could just move back to d4 and just play casual like all the old 3 kids 3 wifes fathers out there. I called Blizzard an enemy of fun, but Blizzard just doesn't delivers fun, GGG has fun things that they just break. At least they buffed a non-usable mechanic like ward :/... Why do you say "so many" when you only complain about a very specific, niche case?
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" Let me add one, dark marionette nerf was undocumented and it killed guardian's blessing setups. |

" I was referring to all the nerfs to the niche case before not specifically this league... I mean ok, let's say that wardloop is niche, and the buffs to melee were all deserved, but I do not see the point of nerfing niche builds if the big chunk of builds didn't even use the tech from niche builds... What I am trying to say, why nerf niche builds if the tech used in builds that need to be buffed has no interaction with the niche build... I don't see how a melee build will ever use ward to be better, unless ward will be 0.1 regenerate rate improved by items like in LE... In a nutshell they need to buff other builds not nerf bring something on pair it's just the average programing thinking. If we cannot make something work make everyone else not work Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party.

" They do it all the time and I don't think they're even aware of it. They kill a lot of builds without realizing while trying to nerf some outliers. I played lightning trap golem stacker elementalist, did ubers on it, I was probably one of the few people who played that archetype. They changed some gems, masteries and items and killed the build. I played dark pact skeleton necromancer, did ubers on it, they changed mana costs, masteries and some shit, removed bone barrier, made the build unplayable. It was the strongest build I've ever made, unkillable with 110 mil dps, they just deleted it although it's a very unpopular build due to its multi-button playstyle. I played explosive concoction ascendant, did ubers on it, and I was the ONLY player using that gem on poe.ninja during the league I played it, they nerfed it to the ground out of nowhere. Like absolutely destroyed with the projectile/flask interactions, it's pretty much impossible to make a good build with it right now. Nobody plays it. Can't blame them though. They're not really trying to make every gem competitive, it's fine and the game is in a healthy state if there are like 10 builds in the meta Last edited by auspexa#1404 on Aug 8, 2024, 2:06:12 AM

" Well gems are one thing, but they are destroying archetypes slowly slowly...I don't really understand why it is like this, I mean they really should try to at least keep the builds that were before in a state were they can perform well and introduce new archetypes...seems really stupid. No wardloop is not an archetype, there are no "archetypes", its just your definition. maybe the guys with actual knowledge will find a way to rebuild it, may GGG will enable it in the next season etc pp.
They kill builds quite often and for years. Welcome to poe. And no there is no difference between the examples of auspexa and yours. I just happened to you now. Current Build: Penance Brand

" Autobombers / loopers are an archtype so the first half of the sentence shows you have no idea what you are talking about. Also when you say "guys with actual knowledge" it's like saying I cannot build it which is disrespectful since I stated some of the nerfs over leagues which should show to any amiba with 1 functional neuron that I know how to "re-build" it as you put it but league after league is harder and harder due to all of this "covered balances"... The only thing you got correct is "welcome to poe" Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party.

" there are no defined archetypes form GGGs point of view. You yourself defined that autobombers are an archetype. Thats fine, but don't project your view as some sort of baseline. And autobombers still exist, hell wardloop still exists, as weak as it is. and have you defined the actual wardloop build? Nope, that was someone else. I don' talk about switching some items around and doing a little school level math. I talk about a paradigm shift which may or may not be possible. So please spare me your "correct" takes. Oh noes, the build you use got scraped(not even your own). get in line. You are not unique, just browse the build forums and look up any build with its tag not renewed. Current Build: Penance Brand

Isn't it pretty clear from the last 5 leagues that GGG wants to step away from "easy automation" and force a more active playstyle? And while they offer the possibility of automation, they want it to be a direct or indirect cost to it. I've never played a wardloop build, but I remember Mark said "don't worry, wardloop builds will still be poassibe" in the showcase.
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.
