Fetid Pools.. #1 place to visit
I need to check it out, haven't been there since last patch when the undead roahs killed my lvl 45, guess it was a lvl 50 area but they are scary. 2400 hp gone almost instantly. Being on hardcore you live longer if you skip stuff like that. Remade the character and he is 60 and 3600 hp, so might be safe this time.

Fetid Pool is my all time favorite zone now. It's so bad ass I wish I could just level there forever.

" lol; nothing like trying to try to shoot a bow / cast a spell over your shoulder. Those rhoa charges gave me something of a flashback to the horned demons in Diablo, and the gloom gives them an extra creepiness that rivals D1 for overall atmosphere. It's also easy to lose your bearings in that place, even with the map up... and running from undead rhoas...right into another pack of undead rhoas - is not a recommended strategy. I tried telling the second pack that the first pack had said nasty things about them, but I don't think they were listening. Excellent job by the designers; getting the viauals and audio to work together in such harmony cannot be an easy task. Thank you. For me, Fetid Pools is the #1 place to avoid. Why you ask? Because Fetid Pools causes more lag and desyncs than any other area in the game by far. Not only that, but everything in the zone is brown. Brown, brown, brown. Now this may not actually be the case but for me, someone with a red-green color deficiency, I can't tell the difference between a zombie and a tree. Throw in magical rhoas and they're practically invisible until they body slam me into the grave, zombies too.
I'm not saying let's make PoE all bright and cheery like D3, no way. What I am saying though, is that PoE could use a slightly better color palette. A little more saturation and subtle vibrancy would go a long way. I understand the need for a 'dark and grim' atmosphere, but I believe it's still easily acheivable with a bit more color. |
