[OLD] Map Management Resource

Map Management
When dealing with a map pool, one must treat them as you would currency, in that you must use them wisely. A good piece of advise for currency is to always have a reserve (can be anywhere between 10%~ however much you wish.). This goes hand in hand with maps so you'll need to know how your maps and currency interact.

Take for example, Chisels. When you begin doing maps, you will want to Chisel your 69/70 maps in hopes that it will yield 71's and 72's. However once you've built up a solid pool of 70's, it may suddenly be less appealing to Chisel these as the opportunity cost is resources that would otherwise go to your higher maps. As always, figure out a good balance between your maps and your currency and adjust accordingly. Don't hesitate to spend if you're running low on maps and likewise be prudent with your currency even if you have a good pool.

This definitely bears re-emphasizing. When you don't have many/any 67+ maps, it makes sense to roll for maze on all your grotto maps. When you have a decent amount of 67+ maps, it is a waste of currency to roll maze on grottos, when you should be focusing on higher maps. Just roll any decent mods on your grotto and be done with it (or even sell them off instead of running them).

Likewise if you have a good pool of 68+ maps, it doesn't make sense to roll for maze on all your sewers. And on and on up. Currency should focus on the top few tiers of maps you have.
thank you so much for taking the time to do this.

Anyone else see the problem here?

Nope. Would you rather be farming act 3 over and over instead, like you would be in Diablo 3?
If you're asking me whether I am excited by the idea of map management, the answer is no.

You shouldn't be excited by it, its a nice mechanic implemented really badly. Way too much RNG in this aspect of the game, Endgame, at least from my PoV should be accessible for everyone who isn't..

a) spending his whole life farming low level maps to build a steady pool
b) being insanely lucky on the few maps he has of a higher level

Don't feed the trolls, they say.
Expect to see both the 71 and 72 pools completed tonight. Temple should have a longer write-up.

As usual, feedback is always welcome.
Fantastic thread. Just want to say you're doing a great job!
