VK : Queue: Submit: ErrorDeviceLost

I am having the same issue with vulkan, using a 3070 Ti.

It's extremely frustrating as I can't use DX12 either as sometimes when entering a town I experience a total system lock, still hear sounds but can't close the game can't alt-tab, open task manager, etc, I have to force a hard reboot, So at best I am stuck using DX11.

I messed with some settings and got it to work. BUT NOW...

my audio is messed up. it defaults to my monitor speakers.

If I change it to my regular speakers it crashes.

but if i just adjust the volume to zero in game options, it works. BUT if I alt + tab out of Windowed Fullscreen, the game will crash...

I just did my Merc Lab and went to check a price on a trans gem... of course it crashes and I HAVE TO REDO IT.

GGG why are there so many bugs... extremely frustrating and waste of time.

For people having this issue, from what I can tell, it's happening either because the GPU is running out of memory or because there's something wrong with the RAM. There's some errors in the event viewer from the nvlddmkm SKEDCHECK02_LOCAL_MEMORY_LOW_SIZE failed

So I'm assuming it's one of those 2 that's causing the issue I hope this helps people out in investigating it further for themselves. I can't really test it since I don't have spare RAM or GPUs and also it's happening only once every few hours of gameplay so it's not that bad for me

Same problem here. have checked with another gpu and RAM and the problem still presist.

Anyway i will deep into this problem and will reply with a fix "if i find any"

Got pretty new pc (in April 2024) and all other games works well without crashes.

Specs:
CPU: i7 14700k
GPU: 4080 Super
RAM: 32gb DDR5 6000mhz
PSU: 1000W

just got this error 2 days ago after 200mb update.
change to direct 11 or 12 instant crash (back screen ) and have to force restart my PC.
only happens in POE.
my audio driver is crash after PoE crashed.

been having this error since day 1 of the league. It seems to occur when I change focus to a different window for indeterminate amounts of time.

Same error here, but only while leveling a new character and only when using spectral wolf (from weapon runecraft)

Same error here. Getting this error about every 1-2 days. This has being going on for years now. Holy guacamole!
