I like to think that the most "faithful" version of Wukong in any current day media comes from the anime OVA for Read or Die.



It's supposed to be in an "alternate history world" so things are different, obviously. Maybe I just like him best because he was awesome. Splitting the sea, spitting fire, and doing basic Goku stuff is always awesome.

The only thing missing is the monkey references...

Wow that's cool. I was wondering what the "Monkey's paw" part was referring to, turns out it's to Sun Wu Kong. The graphics makes sense too (iron with gold tips).

Especially the part about it being as deft as a needle, goddamn how did I miss that.

It would have been really cool if there is a 4th stat: 20% chance to convert apes on hit, where it triggers a "Conversion Trap" effect 20% of the time when you hit ape monsters.

As a matter of fact, I am. And unashamedly. Across D2, D3, and now POE (played D1 but can't remember if it had a HC mode to choose from).

I like being able to take risks, especially when it's only a computer game I play to unwind. I find that having to over-level constantly slows down the pace for me, too.

Okay, back on track! It's a nice little reference by whoever the diamond supporter was, that's for sure. I'd love to see more references, especially if made to more modern topics. In any case, it's a really unique... unique. Probably a build-defining one. Would love to see someone go all out on just stat points to abuse this thing.
