XX% Increased physical dmg on items DOES change the dmg of EK!!!
But as xMasaox correctly said not if the stat is on a weapon because then it will boost the weapon base dmg.

ok I wanted to do a summary in my new scion EK-guide (for my old beta guide look into my signature), but here it is:

Multiplier 1: EK profits from the following "increased" modifiers:
- phys dmg (not melee phys dmg!!!) nodes
- phys dmg from quest reward (bandids is there another quest reward post-beta?)
- phys dmg on items (not on weapons)
- Spell dmg
- Projectile dmg
- IronWill strength bonus

Multiplier 2: EK profits from crit:
- crit chance
- crit dmg

Multiplier 3+4: EK profits from "added xx dmg":
- Hatred
- added fire dmg

Multiplier 5: EK profits from cast speed

Multiplier 6: EK profits from dual-wield cast-speed bonus

Multiplier 7:
Righteous Fire's "More dmg" mod

Multiplier 8:
Low-Life "More dmg" mod

Multiplier 9:
Shock stacks

Multiplier 10:
An EK-Totem together with you casting (didnt try it yet after beta)

Multiplier 11,12:
- Projectile weakness (you should prefer this because of higher mod and pierce)
- Vulnerability (prefer this if you use bear-trap a lot)
-> of course having both curses would be the best since both are a seperate multiplier


Working "AoE" mods (carefully I just use the term aoe because my english is bad and I dont know the correct word EK is NOT an AoE spell!!!):
- Faster projectile (more EK range - imho mandatory)
- Fork
- Chain (really good vs groups but needs A LOT of mana - imho only works with manaleech support gem)
- Lesser/Greater multiple projectiles (pretty bad for EK)
- Pierce (pretty good




=> You dont get high dmg by stacking e.g. only high "increased dmg" modifiers. For high dmg you have to stack as many "Multipliers" as possible.

- Most easy ones (and therefore imho best ones) are Added fire dmg support and Hatred.
- Second best is castspeed - easy to get but more mana needed...
- An EK-Totem does about 50% of your dmg and gives a little bit safety (dont know how it is post beta)
- Crit is pretty good too, but you need a high chance, so a lot of skillpoints and some crit gear needed.
- Righteous fire and low Life mods are VERY VERY powerful, but will need very special expensive gear (imho kinda OP with the right gear)
- Shock stacks are always very powerful, but hard to shock especially bosses without heavily invest into shocking/shock dmg

seriously, other skills have shotgun effect so EK should have at least similar effect.
For example, conc effect gem should work on EK
EK does not have an AoE. It's a spread of projectiles, similar to Split Arrow. There's no Area Damage for Conc to increase, and no Area of Effect to reduce. There's no reason for Conc to apply to EK except to make it overpowered.

Also, not all other Skills can shotgun; every Attack for example.
so now that bear traps isnt effected by spell damage...
What do you use for single target?!? i cant figure anything out
Bear Trap never was affected by Spell Damage; that hasn't changed. It just doesn't deal one-shot levels of damage anymore. It's still solid damage though. *shrug*
