I know when people were trying to sell Blizzcon tickets last year and ebay made it illegal, people would sell a pen/picture/whatever (or some other cheap object) that comes with a ticket... that approach might work?

Considering that its just E-Bay being stupid... I'm not sure... its their call, just throwing the idea out there.

I believe you can get around those rules by providing something in addition to the key. For example, the auction is for a printed screenshot or concept art with a beta key included.

just integrate a "paypal donate" button in the website. ppl can donate rl cash and the devs can (!) send beta keys to the noble donaters.
