Weekend Ladder race Events and Leveling

ok so has anyone been able to work out how people like IMDisappoint are able to level so damn fast? What is their secret?

I'm certainly no lagger but these guys just blow the mind as the game progresses, leaving the rest in the dust over and over again.
I'm BACK :)
It's all about knowing which areas offer the best xp/time and having a strong build that lets you kill efficiently
Winner of the First Ever Cut-Throat Server Test, and Winner of the First Ever Cut-Throat League Event!
Not to mention practice runs, statistical analysis, memorized routines/quest order, knowing what and when to pick something up, what item mods you are looking for, what skill gem to take for each quest, exactly what skill point to put where in what order - memorized in advance. Oh and skill.

One thing I recommend is to have a loosely structured plan for at least the first hour and/or 15 levels. If you run through that plan a couple times, you will start to develop a sense of how to optimize your play to fit your plan.

My basic race leveling plan that I've been using since 0.9.3:

Mud Flats - Level 1
The Ledge - Level 5
Lower Prison - Level 8
Warden's Quarters - Level 10
Merveil's Lair - Level 13
Fellshrine Ruins - Level 14

There are of course many intricacies that can give a top racer an edge, but those are only useful when you have a basic plan in motion.
And as it is such so also as such is it unto you

Damn. I never realized just how underleveled you were but I guess I'm not surprised. I guess you just follow the minimum level to not get an XP penalty?

Yeah, there's a little bit of gem leveling timing in there as well. And for physical damage characters I had factored in possible weapon drops.

I'm going to guess that in the cutthroat event most people were so far behind you zonewise that you got minimal group invasions as well?
Or, like some, you can just get a bunch of beta accounts and have dummy chars standing in the zones with you to increase loot and exp gain.

Thats what i hear anyway
Well it was actually pleasing that ImDissapoint responded here thank you.

At what point do you do the Medacine Chest and Dweller quests? Or do you just skip them?

And Party(size) or Solo?
I'm BACK :)

There were a few people who invaded my instances. Most notably, Pyrocon and some others came into my Submerged level 2 instance and chased me around for awhile.

If someone is doing this and can finish in the top 10 of a normal race, I'd be impressed. In cutthroat I could see this working though.

I always skip Medicine Chest. I kill the Deep Dweller only if there is a prize for doing so.
