League starter builds are pointless after a week
For me, a starter build is a build that can get you to maps on 4L without trading, and to farm regular T16 maps confortably, without requiring other investment then a 6L unique and some rares with life/resists.
Of course, it wont be the most efficient farmer, can't kill uber elder with it, shaper guardians fights would be long and not always deathless, but will get you the currency for a more expensive build. Last edited by 6_din_49#4066 on Jun 16, 2020, 9:55:59 AM

Kind of hard to do anything, but a starter build, in a new league. You have no currency or equipment. You build something that you know you can start with that will; hill decently fast, survive, and get you in to red tier maps. That way you can farm currency to do builds that can take you further. Ironically my starter build in Delirium was able to do Sirus, but I did not build it for that. Just ended up dropping good equipment.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

" You do realize that the rarity of the map doesn't ENABLE high end drops to drop, right? It just improves them. Usually by T10-T12 I can fund the core of my new build to get it to T10-12, then farming more currency using the new build. All I see is a person who just doesn't understand currency generation caps lock screaming at me. Trading, League mechanics, crafting, the multitdes of different league mechanics integrated into core, etc ALL have ways to generate currency. |

I'll add an example. I didn't play dellerium much, but in Legion, mask of the Stitched Demon was worth 2-3ex. The vial to upgrade it was around 50c, same with the base mask. This meant for each T3 Corruption chamber I got, I made 2-3 ex. You don't need to be any higher level than it takes to get the chamber.
Also, many people don't do chaos recipes despite being an incredibly efficient way of getting currency early game. People just look for the big $$$ and then get mad they don't find any while ignoring all the change that added to a fortune. |

" Yeah for the first 24 hours of a league, if even. My league starter is whatever gem drops at twilight strand for the class i play. Everything else is open. |

" All it needs to do is get the ball rolling and get some early high res/utility armor to cap the basics and get into maps. Once I start getting good drops and exs built up I abandon them. But many people aren't good at making big trades or identifying high value items, which is why I say Chaos recipes are good for those people. It's at least a guaranteed easily accessible cash flow. |

I think the OP is a troll.
But in case that is not true... Not all starter builds are equal. Some go only as far as yellow maps. Some can go deep into endgame bosses. Here is my starter build guide Electric Skeletons/Spectre Necro https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2855844 (There is an option at the bottom of the guide for zombies instead of skeletons.) This build is SUPER cheap to get going, will go deep into red maps with 20-30c worth of gear, and can do endgame bosses with investment. There are many such builds out there, cheap to start, get you a ways with minimal investment, and as you gain wealth, scale to deep endgame. |
