Well, if you'd rather not rely on the kindness of strangers (or the raw perversity of the Beta Timer), you can pick up a Supporter Pack for as little as $10US. That is actually a purchase of PoE Cash Shop points of equal value (right now, you can get extra stash tabs, or extra character slots with your points). GGG throws in a Beta key for free. There are higher-priced packs, with additional goodies thrown in, and if you decide you want to upgrade, you can just pay the difference in price, rather than having to buy the higher pack outright (though you can do that, too, if you want the extra stuff as well as what you already have).
