Information On "Light Radius"

After watching countless videos and looking through screenshots. I noticed you have your own "Light Radius" as it were. When in dark areas and caves.

The question I have is to anyone, who has any idea on the subject:

- Will there be item bonuses/gems, to increase the size of the players Light Radius?
Or will it increase automatically, as your character increases in levels?

If not.. Would it be worth implementing?

Apologies if Ive missed reading something, somewhere, but would be greatful for any help/information.

Some affixes on let's say

epic short sword
+5 str
+5 dex
+5 light radius

Here I'd try to point out what would the average player try to look for gear wise, +str +dex or +5 Light radius It's just an affix that isn't really worth looking out for, in my opinion from a looting aspect,

If light radius were to be augmented in such a way it could be implemented by a buff/level up. Maybe by a margin of +1 radius per 10 levels, so that reaching the last difficulty, you would see maybe that mob was bigger than you thought
From what I understand your lightradius gets smaller, as you take damage. In dark areas it becomes a vital factor, especially for classes who tend to take damage and not rely on their shield. So my guess is, it will be a stat on items, as it's of great strategic value.

Also, grats on you lottery win, Indivizual! ;)
Has light radius ever actually mattered in a game? I remember it from DII and there was never a point in time where there was a real difference between having +0 or +20. Even with 0 I was still plenty capable of seeing where I was at all times.
Do you know what the chain of command is? It's the chain I beat you with until you understand who is in command.

Actually Light Radius matters in a lot of games. For instance TERRARIA that game requires a need for a source of light. Mine craft too as well as Dungeon siege franchise. I always looked out for +to light radius items.

Yeah congrats Indivizual!
To be honest, i always found light radius a joke. You can either turn up your brightness on your monitor, or you can turn it up in game. I hope it doesn't affect the item's stats, as in adding light radius would remove the chance to have +damage. "Might over Light"

Have you played Terraria? It's impossible to see without the light. I tried turning up brightness It doesnt affect it at all.

Its to give the effect that you're under ground. So you never know whats up ahead.. Its a randomly generated game. Its about mining like minecraft basically but 2d sidescrolling..anyway thats off topic. You fight zombie hordes in pitch black unless you have a light source too.

I always found the light radius mods to be useless in D2, but they would probably help in this game if your playing something that takes damage often.

Could mean the difference between life and death, since you can't see anything when you get close to dying with the default light radius.
