Is someone actually complaining that they can't tell whose loot it is now??
The entire point is you now know whether or not it's YOURS...
Yes, I agree the shading should be different than it is now, but nametags?? Horrible idea.. If the item isn't yours, you'll know..

Old system:
See an item on the ground
Ask yourself "is it mine?"
Look to see if your name is there
Read the name that is there and compare to your own name
If names match, it's yours
Click & loot
If names don't match, it's someone else's

New system:
See a bright colored item tag and know it's yours
Click & loot

Fixing your post, sir.

Old System:
Run around with increased movement speed and open every chest and breakable.
See an item on the ground.
Ask yourself, "Can I ninja it?"
Read the name that is there and compare it to your own name.
If names match, it's yours.
Click & loot.
If names don't match, wait for the name to vanish. It's yours!
Click & Loot.

New System:
Run around with increased movement speed and open every chest and breakable.
See an item on the ground.
Wait a few seconds.
Click & Loot.

Man, you're right. It's much easier now!
Double-post, sorry.

We are really not running around the map unorganized, that's just an idea u created and then stated. I really don't think this was a welcomed change, nor were the name tags creating chaos Oo. It's more like the clutter of items is creating chaos, not the name tags. Everybody i've been speaking to is not satisfied by this change. What is the reason you are so much defending the removal of name tags? I mean, how did it really help u?

I just don't like 30 timers on my screen. No timers = less animations on the screen. And like I said. Me and my friends have no problems to see what item belongs to who, don't know what you guys are doing wrong...
I don't see why people are saying that there is no way to make everyone happy here. Just give us some options, please.

I absolutely enjoy this game and I think it could be even harder. I enjoy developing your character, fighting the monsters. I, personally, don't enjoy fighting over loot, though. So it would be totally cool if we could just have options for instanced loot etc.

That way everyone can have it their way. Like right now, I mostly play solo to have it my way ;)

You overlooked something. It wouldn't be 30 timers on your screen. It would be 2-3-4 timers lol. From yellows or orbs, rarely from uniques.

EDIT: actually, why are we talking about timers? The main issue is removing names from loot. I dont care about a descending line, wtf :D. Just put the names back

I realy hate the change that player's name is no longer displayed for dropped items. Now I'm not sure if item is mine or just someone else didn't manage to take it in time. Also I'm not able to pick something and give it to the owner, because I don't know whose it originally was. I like to respect drops and I often play with random people, who also want to do this (I make a proper game name for this). After the patch it became almost impossible and for me it's really uncomfortable. I would be grateful if this feature could be restored or maybe added as an option, so everybody can choose if he/she wants to see names or not.

Even with options, not everyone will be happy. There will be those who can't be happy unless they know someone else isn't. That's the thing I just can't wrap my head around when it comes to the arguments from those who love FFA loot. I can't fathom any reason to be against party options apart from an insistence that someone who disagrees with you be denied their preference, even if allowing their preference does absolutely nothing to prevent you from playing the way you prefer.

The BEST THING they could do is REMOVING the names. thousands of players every day opened threads or posted about "OMG PEOPLE LOOT MY STUFF". People didn't understand that the names on the items doesn't mean the item belongs to them. Without the names, it is much more obvious that it isn't their item.

U jump from a side of view to another around this thing. Is that how it is when u play with friends?

Ofc in public games nobody should expect strangers to respect name on items; it's just an impossible thing to achieve. But you changed the context here. And it's not like this is going to stop players from saying "omg people loot my stuff"; people still loot your stuff, with name tags or without name tags, on public games.

We need the names back so we don't get confused when playing with friends.

Anyway, im not going to further debate on this. Please put names back on yellows, orbs and uniques. No need for timer-lines. No need for name on blue items. Just on the items that count..yellow,orb,unique. It's not like this is going to CHAOS things around, you'll have just 2-3-4 of the items with names on them.

I have not had a single map run in the last 3 days where we weren't at some point confused of who got one drop or another. As stated before, ran in 2man team, no prob, but from 3 up it gets messy.

Removing the names was an excellent change for an FFA loot system. In basically every way, this patch improves the FFA looting experience. So why are we unhappy? We want a COOPERATIVE loot system, and this patch does two things:

1. It makes it much harder for friendly players to loot cooperatively than before. This is a significant REGRESSION, even for people who liked the previous system.
2. It can be construed as a sign that GGG will never give those of us unhappy with the current and previous systems what we want, which is a true cooperative loot system. This is a major morale blow to anyone who was hoping GGG would listen to our concerns.
