Can POE 2 Fix names? Please?

It is almost 2020 yet the POE engine does not let you have the name you want if someone else picked it first. There are like a zillion trivial ways to fix this I hope this is one of the features of POE 2

ChickDudeWitch47 hasn't been taken yet so I see no problem here.
account name and character name are separate.

but you can't change your character name once made, this is awful.

And you can't have the same Character Name as another player, hence Op's post.

What about having a unique character? Some people care about that.
You should know that there are some problems with having same names as other people.

Sorry that is just a silly answer, and a dismissive one. Names are important to some people. There are plenty of ways to address the issue. As an example you could associate the name with the account name, you could allow the user to choose a last name, or add a title that the player chooses, or many many other solutions.

A modern game that is played online should never restrict a play to a unique single name. It is just bad design.

Clearly you do not care but others do. Some people may want to name their character after someone in a book, or a relative, or whatever, it doesnt really matter. But the player should be able to have whatever core name they want.

We encounter people with the same names all the time in real life yet is unmanageable in a modern online game that is probably played mostly solo anyway.

It is a restriction from 1980s and 1990s software and needs to go.
The problem is because of the messaging system in the game is linked to your characters name not your account name, so 2 unique users can not have the same character name because the system would not know who to send the message too.

Some people would like to just have one name for all their character I get this, but others like making up random names either for the memes or a name related to what the characters build will be so you can tell what you were playing on that character in the list of 20+ character you have made.

This is not a bug it's a feature! I don't want some monkeybrain cheaters running around using the same names that I do!!!

Umm no it is bad and lazy software design. And if having a unique name matters to you in a system that allows more nanming flexibility it would be even easier for you
