I think you mean 10% less damage, because that's precisely what you're losing by switching from unwavering crusade and time of need is not even close to worth it.
If there's one thing that is overrated in this build it's that - dumping 10s of divines in order to switch to a worse ascendancy node.
Ha, bullshit. You obviously have no idea what you are talking about lol. The amount of times Time of Need was the only thing allowing me to kill depth 800+ AUls with crazy mods that no other boss kill service could kill shows what its worth. I dont need fuckin 5-7% more damage from Unwavering Crusade, and thats what I get, not 10% as you stated for some reason. What I do need is more survivability.
On the one side: Minimally more damage. Which makes absoluitely no difference to the build. Like really, none at all except maybe killing Uber Elder 2 seconds faster.
One the other side: Kill extremely hard delve bosses and allow me to delve much deeper than without it.

could u do a more indepth explaination on why you got rid of unwavering? because form my understanding. unwavinering is giving 30% more damage and 15% more attack speed for the crawler. which is alot. maybe i am miss understanding where u are picking up even more damage or if u are just giving up this 30% dmg and 15% as.
Unwavering crusade gives 30% increased damage, not 30% more damage. Since HoA naturally has a ton of increased damage (640% at 40 virulence stack at lvl 31), the 30% increased damage from crusade is not bigvery helpful. And time of need is indeed quite nice against bosses.

~6 million Tail Spike single target DPS (no Frenzies, Proj. Weakness, Vile Toxins instead of Pierce)
HoAg has exactly 0 mana reservation now, with only one 1% reduced mana reserved corruption on a jewel.
Running: HoAg, Hatred, Skitterbots, Flesh and Stone, Aspect of the Spider and Clarity
That should be the most auras you can run with the build, and I feel all of them are very much worth it to just have one curse and use +1 gloves and lose some ES from the Annointment. Curses are pretty much useless in deep delves anyways because of the insane reduced effectiveness they get.
Flesh and Stone is probably the biggest defensive buff out of these. Of course the chill and hinder from Skitterbots and Spider is huge too, but 50% less hits on me is actually something I notice immediatly, even at only 800 depth.
As far as my gear is concerned, I think only my wand can use an upgrade. Everything else should be close to perfect.

And as I see from the last few pages Cyclopian Coil is still the most overrated item for this build. Get an ok crafted staygian, that gives 1000 ES more + resists or whatever and an abyss socket. Or get a well crafted stygian and it gives 2000 ES more + resists or whatever and an abyss socket. Shock and Ignite immunity comes from flasks of course.
Any obvious upgrades I missed? Except the wand I mean, gonna craft one with minion damage instead of spell damage soon.
Why don't you run vaal molten shell+soul ripper? I find it very useful in deep delves, it's literraly 30k additional ES at the cost of a flask slot. This makes cyclopean coil a bit better, as you have to give up a flask slot so immunities are more usefull. Also you talk about reduced curse effectiveness, i don't think monster gets that in delve (excepted when they get that 60% curse effectiveness mod). Awakened curse on hit + projectile weakness is a good dps boost too.
so I finally was able to get skitterbots, hatred, discipline, aspect of the spider, clarity and HoA active at lv31, all i have left is to get a +1 skin, any ideas the best way to do this? theyre selling for like 100ex on the market

ty for that explantion im still new to poe even tho i feel like i have a good grasp on the game i just dont understand every in and out of the game yet.
I've pretty much been winging this build and I see most people went a very different direction, my goal was to get a lv32 HoA with as many auras as possible
I see a lot of people use flesh and stone however I use discipline. im wondering what you guys would change while i grind for the money for a +1 skin
i have the clarity watchers, and how "required" is the golden rule?
im at 14k hp and pretty much never die granted I dont deep delve. again i havnt been following the thread at all and im wondering if there are any glaring opportunities
edit: i could potentially replace discipline with flesh and stone and that would free up at least 3 skill points (currently need the 4% reservation until i either roll perfect rings or some malarky)

It's 40% + 15% as, and last time I checked %increased damage didn't have diminishing returns.

Because he has to give up the increased duration in order to fit f&s and you can't reliably keep up soulripper vaal molten shell without that.
He's wasted 3 talent points in order to fit that aura which means nothing, because deaths in those depths happen from bad positioning and/or not killing/focusing targets fast enough and half the time mobs that kill him are not even out f&s range.

You get less curse effectiveness scaling past 1.5k depth - complete non issue as far as this build is concerned, because to push deeper you'd need to switch to a no life build anyway.
Awakened curse on hit proj weakness is indeed very nice, especially if you give up pierce for more damage.

Are you having trouble keeping your Virulence stacks at 40? No faster casting gem and faster projectile speed seems like it would be difficult.

i kinda did my own thing, only 14k es even with discipline. im wondering if its even worth, i could potentially get back 3 skill points and push 17k es without it, replacing with flesh and stone... plus i can min/max some more jewels
