Introducing the Salvage Box

Call me paranoid, but doesn't this encourage shady RNG calculations to encourage duplicates from loot boxes to sell more salvage boxes...?
Too many chances for garbage nty.

Let's be honest.... this process shouldn't even cost money. Trade 5:1 for a random chance... it eats duplicates, and creates less resentment for getting those duplicates. It's a no brainer. I think the ball was really dropped on this one, especially at 30 points per attempt...

"shouldnt cost money? but tencentggg employees will starve! they are a business they need money money money!"

this reminds me of the music soundtrack hideout microtransaction, my guess it was going to be $15-20 but they saw the backlash on it so they reduced to $5 still this feature should have been added to 3.8 some people is starting to realize that they are no longer a small indie company and their way is only but one.

poe2 = ruthless 2.0.
Good intention, but awful execution. These boxes are a joke and the % increase for each cosmetic tossed is abysmal.
A huge slap in the face to anyone who supports your game.
Hmm

That's a thumbs down GGG.

Spend money to get rid of dupes we paid for in the first place.
Seems to me like the more money a person has dumped into past lootboxes, the less value they'd get from buying a salvage box (higher risk of just getting another dublicate).

But if someone hasn't bought a ton of past lootboxes, they wouldn't have a lot of dublicates.

So.. Who's the intended buyer here? Am I misunderstanding something?

Yeah, man. How far this game has come... to think I thought we were supporting something that would stay independent, or at least responsible.

I'm actually pissed that this wasn't released at the same time that the mostly shitty Circus box (I do like some of the items in it) was released. I had just upgraded to Vanguard and didn't see any new MTX I wanted so I spent it all on the boxes, like I'm sure a lot of other players did in my situation. GGG anticipated this so people would spend more money on this after already spending money on the Circus boxes. It's disgusting.

Tencent is slowly creeping in and everybody should be worried. The more predatory MTX that creeps in like this, the less people are going to buy it. The less money GGG makes, the less content we get until this game eventually dies. GGG, you have a chance to stop before it gets out of hand. Don't kill your game over fucking microtransactions. Until this shit stops, I'm done giving you money. I've spent several hundred dollars on this game and HAPPILY, because I knew that you guys weren't trying to squeeze every cent out of us and I loved the content you guys were creating. Now, I'm not so sure.
