100% sure people have probably vendored 10 ex+ base fractured items.
Because they have no idea or even care on how the synthesizer works which is unfortunate.

" I shouldn't have to watch a youtube video on how to play this game. I swear I"m not giving anymore money to this game until a few things are changed/improved. How to get maps being one and a less complicated league mechanic for another. I absolutely despise trading for any lower maps now. |

I even know how the synthesizer works and wouldn't bet against having vendored a multiple ex base, just cause how the hell can you remember every good recipie for every slot?
Best i can hope for is holding onto t1/t2 fractured mods / high tier bases and sort them out later... |

If its not a T1 mod and/or has 3 fractured affixes its trash. If it is 3 fractured T1 mods, its still probably trash but check first.
I'm keeping an eye out for the stuff that works for me or is universal (like the boots i wont make) but yeah specific build stuff? I've most likely vendored or not even picked up 1ex+ items for many leagues. At least poe.trade macro helped me on uniques. |

GGG really fucked up by still having not enabled fossil and essence crafting on Fractured items. They weren't all supposed to go into the Synthesizer - that's why the lower tier implicits are all so shit. Crafting on Fractured items directly was meant to be the more 'accessible' i.e. non-elite part of crafting this league. They've been doing a lot in recent leagues to encourage more people, rather than just elite players, to actually craft gear - from weighted and mod-blocked crafting in Delve, to 'free' crafting from Syndicate safehouse rewards, to 'partial' crafting with Fractured items. All to reduce the fear more ordinary players have of actually using their currency, as opposed to just spending it like gold. But unfortunately they fucked up the implementation of this one by disabling essences and fossils, hopefully just due to some bug that they'll fix soon(tm), but by now the damage seems to be done (as chaos spamming on them is still terrible) cos everyone's forgotten that direct crafting on them is still a thing you can do (or rather, were meant to).

" You don't have to. If you just want to 'play the game', then run memories, open reward chests, fight bosses and see if any good (by traditional standards) loot drops. If you want to fully exploit the game mechanics...yeah, pretty much every complex game has required consulting external resources to do that, from PoE to Warframe to friggin' Eve Online. And those are all successful games. Also, the general rule for Fractured items is quite simple - save only T1 (or high roll T2) fractured mods, particularly the ones with 2 or 3 fractured mods on high ilvl and/or good bases. There are some wonky exceptions that you wouldn't expect, like light radius being an actual good mod on a bow, but by and large that simple rule should handle the vast majority of what you drop. Also, if you decide to actually try out crafting directly on Fractured items (especially if they ever get around to re-enabling fossils and essences on them), then just keep stuff with multiple acceptable (to you) fractured mods. It's no more vague than fossil crafting.
If you want ES based implicits, you synthesise gear with ES. If you want ES affixes, you use a fossil that increases defenses. If you want to know what either actually does, you go to poedb. |
