So, being SSF, I don't like wasting anything. Especially corrupted red maps that have ele reflect on them. Does anyone have any tips on ways to run these maps? I've thought about swapping to chaos DOT skills, but the damage seems pretty low.
You don't take damage from reflected with your damage over time.
However your initial hits will hurt you!
Therefor I remove the "trigger casts" since they are all hard hitting skills, and then I've been able to run a t13 with reflect.
You still have to be careful though!
All of our dot skills (Cold snap and vortex) have an initial hit that's enough to kill you though. I'm not sure how you managed to do that. I tried a reflect map before and just instantly died the first time I popped vortex on a pack.
I am well aware they have an initial hit (hence why I said you'd still be hurting)
I dunno why you had issues with it. Maybe you have some added damage to spells that makes your spells hit harder initially?
I died first time I tried as well, but after I removed orb of storms, lightning brand (whatever it's called) and frost bomb, then I was able to do it at least.
Never said I liked it, but it was doable

Ok I did manage to do it. Switching to Yugul ascendancy helps. Just a matter of positioning and not hitting the pack directly

The initial hit of vortex will kill you, but you can lure mobs into it. It will take a lot longer, but reflect is doable. If you have the currency, you can also roll the map mod “cannot take damage from reflect” with sextants. I’m not in HC or SSF, so it’s a little easier to build up currency. But it is an option for reflect maps. There really aren’t many builds that can run EVERY map mod, and be tanky with a lot of damage. Aside from sabo arc trapper, that’s a build you can run the entire game with no issues. If that’s what you want you can always check the forums. This build actually can run every mod with ease, just not reflect.

What about no regen? I've been stearing clear of those, but I'm not entirely sure how it works for us. Is it just energy shield per second, or does it also halt our recharge?

Ah true, I didn’t think of those because alchemy orbs are cheap and I usually roll those off. Not sure if it halts our ES recharge, but I definitely don’t run “no mana regen” simply because I’m too lazy to switch to a mana flask. I run this build because I have the currency to avoid bad mods, if I didn’t I would probably just run arc trapper sabo, but it’s boring and makes the game even easier than this build lol. Also, no regen sucks for pretty much every build to be honest. That’s the fun of this game though, trying out different builds for different purposes.

Actually last season I was running a poison molten strike assassin, and with that build I could run every mod. Only one I didn't like was the "x% chance for mobs to avoid ailments" since that directly reduced my damage by that amount.
Everything was doable, but with that mod, stuff just died slower.
Ohh. And that build melted my GPU and GGG's servers since all the damage was so cracy back loaded xD

So, no regen only applies to the life regen converted to es regen that we get. It doesn't apply to energy shield recharge. That happens after a few seconds of taking no damage. So no regen is totally doable if you're careful. Just bring a mana flask and try not to spam your skills as much.

That is very good to know, however, I think I will still be rerolling those maps.
It would be way to bothersome to do them, but yes, in case I get it after vaaling a map, now I know it's doable. So thank you for the clarification!

Hey there, enjoying the guide so far! What is a good amount of energy shield to have before switching to CI roughly speaking?
