[3.5] Occultist Vortex/Cold Snap ES/CI - Deathless and Safe Uber Elder and T16's

Thanks for all the feedback guys!

A few things I should make more clear when I get a minute...

Ele Pen only applies to On-Hit, so it does nothing for this build...

I should clarify a section on how EE works...

I should add more clarification on to why mana regen is not an issue, and how to properly run 2x curses AND spider enchant....

Anything else I should add to the main post?

Hey, as I am new to poe I was wondering if this would work with a 2handed staff too. I would just like to try it on the second weapon set. Could you help me with that?

He says in the weapon section that if you want a bit more damage, you can use a staff. I’m unsure on the exact rolls you’d want though. You would lose a chunk of ES dropping a shield though. If you build this correctly, I really don’t see the need for more damage to be honest.

Not really man, you’re build is amazing. The only issue I ran into was I neglected +#mana on rings, so I couldn’t run 4 auras at the start. Might help to add that. It was a simple fix with my crafting bench, and you DEFINITELY need one mana reserved node. But 4 auras requires a bit more investment, the base build is perfect. Maybe just add a few tips on the 4 aura build. Again, you don’t need to run 4.This build is strong either way. Also, don’t follow his character build without looking into the cost of 4.

Edit: Crafting fossils have gone up quite a bit as well, so look at purchasing gear first. You might get it cheaper. Dense fossils are around 2-3c—>fossil. Lab enchants aren’t needed either, just the base helm with vortex damage is 3-4ex.

I think its worth the 1 passive point to grab the 4% reduced mana reserved under CI, and have better crafts on your rings. I could be more clear about the ways I explain that :P

For 4 auras? It’s pretty much mandatory unless you have a way to reduce reserve elsewhere. Great guide and build!

Ya, no you're fine OP. When I was earlier level there was a moment of...wtf? for mana reservation and mana regen. Now I'm fine.

However I am skipping the dual curse route as I find the amulet slot too good to blow on that Temp Chains unique ammy, and...I'm just generally more than satisfired with just Enfeeble+ Disc+ Spider.

The guide is great, the build is GREAT. Like, really great haha. I've chosen to utilize Apeps and Bated Breath but it's so disgustingly strong either way.

I played Vortex/ Cold Snap this league already as Trickster...this is stronger. Much stronk.
I guess I do have one question @OP

Can this build do ele reflect, or am I missing something? Any ele reflect and I one-shot myself. I’m running your current build, so there’s no room for phasing gem. Although, I do have it on my flask. If it’s not possible, maybe add “no ele reflect maps” to the guide lol. Aside from that, I can run a lot of nasty combinations just fine. Just have to be careful with the first set of mobs in maps if you’re paying for shaped, because they’re corrupted(unidentified).

Is there any reason to level the gem "phase run" past level 9? I mean the gem only increases your movement speed from 34% (lvl 9, 113 dex) to 39% (Level 20, 155 dex), but it requires 42 more Dex, which is a huge waste on gear in my opinion, also all other gems require a lot less dex.

Hypothermia Support: 21 lvl - 114 Dex
Swift Affliction Support: 20 lvl - 111 dex |21 lvl - 114 dex

Nope, you called it IMO.

You can, but its not super smooth. The key is to lay vortex and lure mobs into it, because it has an innitial "hit" that it will reflect, but it does not reflect the DoT.

So if you lay it in the middle of mobs, it will hurt you, if you lay it outside of mobs and lure them into it, it will not.

You can also take the pantheon for reduced reflected ele damage "Soul of Yogul" for an extra bump in defenses for those accidental hits.

Long story short, I reroll ele reflect mods, but they are doable.
