Sorry if this has been asked before: how far would you think a 5-link inpulsa would take me and what would the gem set up be?

" This is correct, you do get better damage from a 6-link than from the inpulsa bonuses. Inpulsa is still really nice for trash clearing due to the pops, and has life and ignore shock, which are both great. So I don't think it is necessarily wrong to do 5L inpulsa. Shroud is a good choice too though. 5-link shroud is about 80c currently. |

I have a question why did you choose to craft T3 increased spell damage instead of T4 spell damage on your wands?? is the difference very little?

" That's not a pure spell damage roll, it is a hybrid spell damage and non-chaos as extra chaos damage roll. It is the top tier of that mod. |

Speaking of crafting wands, I did a little crafting (actually a friend did the alt-orb spamming portion, thankfully, not easy on the wrists), made some a little better:
Basically went to two T1s +crafts instead of one T1 +crafts. Ele as extra chaos is the most important, you absolutely want a T1 of that (and that naked is fine to multimod), but if you can get a second good T1, well, so much the better. Combined, these are about 6% more damage than the multimods with single T1 ele as chaos (though some of that is because I divined them a bit harder). These kinds of crafts can be somewhat hard on the wrists in terms of number of alt orbs used, but if you're at the point of min-maxing a few extra % of damage, it is an option. For the added lightning one, since it had 2 good prefixes, I was able to lock prefixes and scour, and avoid gambling the annul. For the cast speed one, since it was 1 good pre, 1 good suff, annul gambling was the only option (cast speed was the regal so no imprint option). At this point the largest amount of damage remaining on the table for me is better jewels, and a temple corrupted inpulsa. I've destroyed 4/4 of the inpulsas I've temple corrupted so far, so that part is going well. For jewels, I need to babysit some live searches. Just been kind of lazy about it. |

Did play a bit with the rings in PoB. Crafting an elder Ring and matching it with (perfect) mark of the shaper can get similiar results like the essence worm and malachais combination plus some extra life and a free prefix (didn't find a dmg orientated prefix on poecrafting to add for the last prefix).

Were you changing the spec to Mastermind of Discord? Because with the spec as is that kind of setup doesn't even get close.
Using my PoB: No Rings: 492736.5 DPS Essence Worm + Malachai's: 788214.1 DPS Mark of the Shaper + Elder Malachai's: 752396.9 DPS Mark of the Shaper + Elder multimod: 633503.9 DPS edit: MoS + Elder Multi + MoD + HoT: 798781.9 That's without a wrath watcher's eye. Adding a wrath watcher's eye (which you can certainly afford if you're thinking about multimodding rings) makes things better for essence worm. I have played around with the Mark of the Shaper + Elder Malachai's: The damage loss from that setup isn't too major, and you gain a little life. But I wanted to use a wrath watcher's eye, so I switched back. Replacing malachai's though, in terms of pure damage, is not possible without changing specs (mastermind of discord). With some truly absurd mirror quality rings you can get close: With 2x of those: 728113.0 DPS With 1 of those + Malachai: 798250.8 DPS But if we're going to consider an item as absurdly expensive as that, we might as well also consider a triple wrath watcher's eye: Of course we'll need a ridiculous rare jewel to slot for a fair comparison (in the previous comparisons I had simply left my watcher's eye slot empty for all setups): Essence worm + malachai: 901467.8 DPS 2x Absurd ring + jewel: 758966.0 DPS If you change specs to mastermind of discord, and reserve ~400 mana (losing some leech and reflect immunity): 2x absurd rings + jewel + MoD: 901413.8 (970234.8 during damage pendulum) --------------------------------------------------------- So you can gain a little damage with rare rings and a swap of spec to MoD, though at some cost in terms of effective hitpoints (400 mana), map mod viability (reflect), and sustain (uncionditional 0.5% life leech). Of course that's not the end of the story. If you want to pick up survival stats on a ring, that's a thing you can do. This is the route I'd probably go (and keep the malachai's): Since both shaper mods you want are prefixes, this would be quite difficult to craft. More affordably you could get life gain on spell hit on one ring, mana gain on spell hit on the other. But then you're losing MAJOR damage from not having malachai's. This ring + malachai's (back to no jewel): 720281.5 DPS. I didn't change the skills, dropped from 506k DPS to 499k with the crafted ring, though but only explanaton i can find now, is, that i forgot to disable the wrath. Basically wrath and EE have to be disabled, if i am not wrong, and somehow i messed up one of them, also i am sure i did disable it before posting.
Also tried the "absurd" rings on my char, no chance to get close to your ring combination, unless one runs wrath on mana. For watchers eye, i went with a wrath mana leech / clarity mana before life one, ideally getting to 40% mana before life. I like the build, you don't have to care about map rolls at all. |

Speaking of PoB errors, I made a careless one above with the "absurdity" ring as well. I used the lightning damage against shocked enemies modifier without the "is the enemy shocked" checkbox.
The reason I don't use that checkbox is because PoB doesn't calculate what your shock is supposed to be, it just assumes the maximum 50% shock if you check that box, so it can be wildly inaccurate. In order to compensate for that, I should have removed the "against shocked enemies" portion of the mod, so it just read "adds 10 to 45 lightning damage." With that change, the 2x absurdity damage is: 762499.2. Still not quite essence worm + malachai, but closer. The 2x absurdity + jewel + MoD number should be: 961410.2 (1033594.2 with pendulum on damage) |
