Which enchant on boots is beter, more universal - life/mana leech or ele penetration ?

Leech is better - penetration enchant is good too, but that means you lose elemental weakness on Herald of Thunder and put Warlords mark in there as well as in CWDT.

I'm still going strong in SSF, but wondering what the thinking is on using call of the brotherhood, or Bereks in this build?

Both fine stop gaps - I don't like COTB - but bereks is good until you get a really good ring+amulet combo.

Why minion damage nodes?

There's a node on the tree known as Spiritual Aid that makes you benefit from minion damage stats. You take this until you can get Jewels that offer better damage and life

If you can't get a 6L glove, 5L gloves will do more than enough damage.

what do you think of using shade of solaris as and alternative to a multi crafted scepter?

How would this build do for MFing t11-12 maps? Using biscos collar, sadimas, perandus blazon and thief’s torment (SSF, no ventor’s yet). Getting bored of my ele hit character and storm brand’s on my to do list. Assuming I can get the resists, how would the damage be?

You'd need a different build then - this build is too tanky for MF. I guess you could change it for more damage, but you're sort of limited by Brand Recalls cooldown to clear insanely fast for MFing purposes

Priority
- Upgrade your weapon: Cast speed can scale better than lightning damage, 4% cast speed = 15% increased lightning damage. It will make your storm brand really smooth for mapping and much better QoL
- Upgrade your rings to at least: opal rings to get more elemental damage
- upgrade your boots with decoy totem and get leech enchant ASAP

Later
- upgrade your belt to stygian for 1 more abyssal jewel to boost damage and life
- Helm

Overall increase life and damage on all possible items
